Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Now ive heard...

1)Boley So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal

2)Jo Boley So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal

3)Jo Gajke Bolavey So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal

and

1) Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

2) Sri Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

now me and my friend were talkin and he says saying the modified versions [2,3] is wrong. You shuld only say [1]. He says you shuldnt be changing Gurus words. Now my question is...is there a right way or a wrong way to say it?

Forgive me for saying anything wrong.

welll, if we can base it on the actions of gurmukhs, at the 2002 toronto AKJ samagam, whenever bhai jeevan singh ji did ardaas, he always said jo bolaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and while he was saying bolay, he was doing naam jap too, so like

"JO BOOLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY VAHEGURUVAHEGURVAHEGURUVAHEGURUVAHEGURUVAHEGURUVAHEGURUVAHEGURU SONIHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

Yeah....but my friend says its rong to change the gurus words....i want to know if theres a right way or does it matter at all....?

Bhai/Bhen Ji,

The Jaikara - Bole Soh Nehal does not come written anywhere as Guru Sahib's words. Moreover other Jaikare not NOT modified versions of the first one, they are different. So even if Guru Ji had written a specific Jaikara somewhere, it doesn't mean you cannot shout any other one. Right?

They are all battle cries and they can contain anything. Some Nihung Singhs include sakhis/baanis with shouting Jaikare and their jaikare sometimes last longer than 20 mins!

here's a list of some other Jaikare which are used these days: http://www.panthkhalsa.org/sdpn/kb_jk.html
