Look at how much anecdotal information has been floating around for decades, which seemed like conspiracy theories back then, but have subsequently proved to be true. 

All of this was smoke coming off a larger, hidden fire.    

How were the Kharkus meeting these on the street? That suggests there might have been more than say just a hundred of these girls? I thought the problem was smaller than that. 

Wouldn't their 'pimps' have better control of them ?

It's Pakistan, I'm sure if they just bribe the police, they can do whatever without consequences.

If anyone has more details (I know maybe not) about these brothels etc, would be interesting to know

*Most of the 'wrong un' Paks in UK are not from the part of Panjab close to East Panjab, they're from near Rawalpindi, or Mirpur/Azad Kashmir - make more sense that these girls be trafficked to those areas (*yes, I know they could be any type of Pak including those whose families are from places like Lahore/Sialkot/Faislabad

Alternatively, the girls are/were all over so especially close to places of wealth such as Lahore .

Depends where in Pakistan they and the Singhs were/are, and how many of each group to make a chance encounter more or less likely

I would imagine, after a while, when they were considered fully broken down, and had no where to go, the pimps might let some out?  Plus they'd have no passport, so they couldn't exactly fly back home.  They would have nowhere to run to, and no one would be sympathetic towards them. If anything, they'd be under serious threat of even more rape and murder on the street if people found out what they were. 

The account we have of an alleged victim who escaped, says that it was specific days that johns would come to the remote brothels they were placed in.  I don't know how these things work exactly. She said that the punters were often high ranking political types too. We know they also have open bazaars of this type too in urban areas like Heera Mandhi in Lahore - might have been one of those victims out in the daytime?  Diplomacy and their culture would dictate that the british embassy would keep quiet about this too. We know how the police are about these things too......

Regarding my own views. I was sceptical at first myself, at this point, when we know so much more about the organised nature of human trafficking - I believe there is some substance behind what was heard back then.  Too much of what was rumoured about in the past, has subsequently turned out to be true. 

Plus the person whose mouth this came from seemed well informed and connected. I think some of the kharkus were in shock and asking <banned word filter activated> is going on in england?

I know. Sounds weird. I was upset, and it represents a mechanism to disincentivize using our girls at all, whether they supposedly want to or not, make it cost ineffective for then to deal in Sikhs. 

But set the tax low enough that they have to pay it versus pay someone to off you, but high enough it just sounds like a big hassle to use these Sikhs girls, kick them out.

Well true, and..half of Punjab and some good many Sikhs are still on that side too.

There was a time when I would've probably shared the views you've put up above, but I tell you what made me see it differently: working as a teacher teaching teenagers in a college for a few years. 

I taught at a few levels, and some of the classes I taught were special needs ones, and the experience changed my mindset. I grew up in a time when these 'special needs' things weren't understood and people were just considered  'thick' or 'stupid'. What I learned from my teaching experiences was that there are real serious differences in.......how people's brains function.

Some people seem naturally more vulnerable because of cognitive shortfalls. They have shockingly poor powers of concentration, their memory is real bad. Some of them have mental ages much lower than their physical age. I believe that this contributes into them making poor decisions and being almost completely unaware of dangerous situations they naively place themselves in.  It was teaching a Sikh girl like this that opened my eyes. I know some girls who get themselves in trouble are probably just mouthy, arrogant broads, but many are vulnerable because of cognitive issues.  I know groomers target both types. 

Also, it makes sense for us as a community to put out norms that discourage such behaviour in various ways, or it becomes widespread.

They show their back to our religion and then expect us to help them out when things go bad. Sorry but good riddance.
