according to rehatnamas a khalsa sikh is only supposed to wear the khalsa colours which are blue black orange white.

for a phug this is usually just blue, black or orange, becuz if u wear white people will think u are a naamdhari lol

it is especially important a phug is one of the khalsa colours. no greens, reds, pinks, spotty, flowery, etc lol

the strangest thing i have seen is a nihang with a HUGE red phug. hmmmmm.

And if you look closely at the shabad that was quoted earlier, it doesn't say anything about orange, so is that forbidden too (note the sarcasm)?

I was giving my personal interpretation of the shabad above because I thought maybe it has been misinterpreted. Please forgive me for any errors.

That said, I still think, if 5 rehitdharee Khalsas did Punj Pyare seva and issued the hukam to you that you should wear only orange, blue, black and white, then I can't preach to you what you should or shouldn't do but Bhai Daya Singh Jee (THE FIRST of the FIRST punj pyare in 1699) gave a rehitnama that instructed Sikhs that whatever is told to them in their amrit sanchar, they should keep it close to their heart.

The only time I can see this being an exception is if practicing the rehit is very difficult in your INDIVIDUAL, PERSONAL, UNIQUE situation (Guru jee is always forgiving) or if you somehow have the avastha to realize that your punj weren't really qualified for the seva because they don't do their nitnem or they did some kurehit or they are teaching major anti-gurmat including namdhari or nirankari philosophies.

Red and Green are most associated with Islam, Hinduism, and Santa Claus / Christmas.

However blue is also associated with Muslims, ORange also with Buddhists.

So I don't think it's about religious difference.

In fact that would be a new level of colour-based racism.

I think they are just practical colours - the philosophy of orange and blue is deep... orange is the alert, attack colour, blue is the calm, peace colour - Sant / Sipahi right there.

It just makes sense - my punj pyare said it to me . . . I avoid wearing tacky clothing anyway. . . but my sister says all my clothes are tacky . . . except for my blue chola
