dear sangat jee ,

i live in the south-west of uk ,and i am turning 50 nxt month .

i have been running a very time and energy consuming business in the last

10 years .now all i wish is to sell up and move to southall so i can focus the remaining years of my life in satsang and sangat which is abundant in southall ,apart from pursuing more keertan ,gurbani path and languages like farsi etc to help me in my reserach and understanding of bhai nandlal etc .

All i desire is a small 2 to 3 bedroom house very near to the park avenue and havelock gurudwaras .i have been doing a lot of ardas over this matter and i feel its the right move and in Gurujee's hukum .

i really need the help of Gursikh veers and sisters to help me achieve this .first who ever reads this ,please pray for me in yur amritvela ardas that ''SATGUR SIKH KE KAAJ SEVAREH''.secondly please give me suggestions about any vacant house on sale u may know of or a good sikh estate agent who can help find a house .however i have no idea which street or road is good or which is a no go area .

please please offer me advice and help and do ardas for me and point me in the right direction .i will so so appreciate your suggestions and thoughts on this matter ,gursikh piareo

Be careful. Many Sikhs have left Southall. If you think it is full of Sikhs these days you'd be wrong.

Maybe think of going Gravesend instead.

BahJi,

Southall is a good place for a gursikh, there are many many Gursikhs there.

There is a estate agent called Hilton in Southall, run by Indians (not sure if they are sikhs, they may well be) do a quick search through google - Hilton / estate agents /southall and you should be able to get their number.

Why don't you take a day out to southall, (I normally go there every few weeks from Leeds to do Satsang) on a saturday or something and just ask a few chardi kala Gursikhs you will find informn of Havlock road gurdwara.

No estate agent is ever good, property price's in southall are hugely inflated at the moment, and given the national economic conditions i think you should wait before the current storm blows over.

Altough Southall has all the good points it also has many negatives, particularly congestion, crime and over crowding. It might be a good idea to buy a house in the surrounding areas such as hounslow, hayes, etc..

@dallysingh101 do you know how much demographics of Southall have changed since 2007 ? I know you're not from W London. I've only been there about 5 times since then, and only for an hour or two so don't know.

There doesn't seem to anyone on this site currently who post regularly from W London.

Anyone know if it's more like Kabul or Lahore or Mogadishu than Jalandhar these days (I'm not looking up official figures as I think number of illegals is likely high)

Gravesend is (touchwood) still relatively pleasant.

I haven't been Southall in years. Some East London guys and those from those sides don't usually get on. I try and avoid the place myself.
