Cheapest Places To Stay........in London

THis is a question for the londoners, my friend and I are doing a course in london, and so we have to stay two nights in london each month, e.g fri night and sat night and leave for home on the sunday.

Anyone know the cheapest place to stay, or any ideas ,

we will probs be getting of at Kings Cross station or St Pancreas station as we are coming from newcastle.

but we want to be near to Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH or within walking distance e.g we can walk a few miles if need be.

Any ideas ...............???

when you get to kings you jump on to the northern line, get on the edgware branch of Northern Line and get of a couple of stations later at chalk farm.

i tried gumtree, and its like £50 a night. ................................ then i guess its london n its expensive
