Beating Your Kids

Did sikh gurus said anything about beating your kids being okay? I mean, is it allowed in Sikhi? Did sikh gurus used to beat their kids?

only way i learned, i got some good beats...i mean theyre is a limit, but message got across to me :s but my rents always sat me down after and were nice than and explained wat i did wrong...wrked for me :D

Children need discipline... i'm sure kids those days got a good beating/slapup now n then, if they acted a fool... personally, i'm glad i got beat when i was younger... taught me some discipline.... buh, i probably shuda got a few more beatings... haha...

kids shud'n be hit for the sake of beatin them.. buh if they do sumthin dumb, that they kno they're nah supposd to do, then i think some discipline is required..

theres a story that when guru nanak went out to buy food supplies for the family with money given by his father...returns empty handed bcuz he gave all the food to the poor ....got a goood butt whooping by pops

IMO if a child does not behave, you are allowed to escalate from a verbal warning to a physical one. Remember, the hand that beats you is full of love. Like Maharaj's when He guides us through life.
