Picture is true and this was his first arrest and he later was released. The person on the right is the govt person (cbi officer). Notice that the wooden cot. During british raj, prisoners with death penalty were not given any cot nor any material such as pen/notepad and their prison library reading rights were taken away. So this proves that Bhagat Singh didn't get death sentence in that picture (means old picture) and also proves that bhagat Singh never wrote that infamous atheist letter "why iam atheist" just few days before noose.

Bhagat Singh had ahiest belief, he never killed anyone but it was his mate who accidentally killed wrong guy, did brave job in turning himself in and raised the country's hope to gain freedom. Gandhi and Nehru's dhoti were down by seeing this young lads brave act and his popularity and they instead encouraged British to punish em.

He was scared by noose (everybody does). Heard lots about bhai randhir Singh jee who won many Sikh prisoners right while staying in prison. Rights including, right to wear turban and right to cook their own food while in jail. They met after exchange of couple of letters and help of one jailer who was nice and acted as their middle man. That guy put his job/life at stake in order to get these personalities to meet. Meeting details were mentioned in autobiography of bhai sahib. He requested to take Amrit before hanging; which on spot refused by British officials because of fear that panthic faujan will raise hell if British hang a gursikh.

Im very much sure its the artist imagination.. (fake)

Just goes to prove with time people change their perspective on things, also why would British officials refuse to let Shaheed Bhagat Singh take amrit? Sikh were a tiny minority like a percent or just under 2 percent so why would they fear panthic faujan for hanging a gursikh? As they hanged and tourted many gursikhs before and after. Also Shaheed Bhagat Singh had more following numerically by non-Sikhs ie. muslim, hindu punjabi's etc.

Face facts during the raj Sikhs had little political influence the people in charge just tried to appease them by making broken / false promises.Shaheed Bhagat Singh did so much by the age of 23, why do some of our own sikhs not like him for his beliefs and the fact he cut his hair. YES Sikhi wise it was a no no but he was a great person did so much, had so much anakh. If he was keshdhari or amritdhari I bet he would be put on a pedestal. Sorry for ranting. But it's like in our culture relative or not if someone is from your ancesteral village they are like your extended family.

Answers to your question is that most probably your definition of Sikh and mine definition of Sikh is quite different. Your reply leads to an endless, countless and meaningless debates on the definition of Sikh on this forum and I'm sure we agree that there is no point on wasting space and time :)

Picture is in fact heavily edited and foreign items are included. Original picture which I later found with historian in India is in bad condition and quite different than this one. People change their viewpoint based on their factual based research and that should be encouraged rather than using it as cheap scoring points ;)

Hopefully one day may answers on Sikhi will be answered.

Sikh means to learn / a student. If you don't ask questions on a subject which you don't understand it's only right to ask a question rather than just nod your head and like sheep and follow the herd, even though you don't know why you are doing so.

Please provide me a list via pm on my endless meaning less topics on Sikhi.

Yes your version of sikhi is right and mine is wrong.

This is a forum and someone who created a forum should not be offended by members asking questions on our faith. But you have never commented on how many members repeatedly slander and offend other faiths!

Gurds'singh':

Nobody is interested in your watered down version of Sikhi.

You claim that you are here to learn, but all you do is criticise and do shanka on Sikhi Saroop. All your posts are directed towards it in one form or another.

If you were to learn something, you would have done by now and would have been inspired to keep Kes as a start. Sikhi isnt rocket science.

But it seems like ts not in your karams.

Stop polluting the forum with your Nastik mentality. We need inspiration, not demotivation.

Goodbye.

Thanks for the reply. Yes this forum is only for a certain type of Sikh and I don't fit the bill.

BTW Im no nastk i believe in God. Ijust wanted to learn but this is like a site for members who are hardcore advanced stage Sikhs. Not beginers. like me. Sorry if I offended, but mate atleast you could have had the decency to inform me earlier I'm not welcome..

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
