..::love Marriage::..

Recommended Posts

people on here are laughing, but they have never been in a situation like yours. They are lucky that god has blessed them so that they have not been tempted to get into a relationship. so please, i humbly ask all of those people to stop making fun because god has a different path for each of us, and some are just less fortunate to fall in love with another person. i myself have been in love and probably am still in love with someone, but all we can hope for is that god puts us on the right path and keeps us by his side.

You are partially right veeray, but we are not laughing at her, atleast I am not. I just find it funny that people do things that obviously have nothing to do with Sikhi, yet they post on a Sikh forum asking for advice, so what do we do? Loving is human, she should tell her parents like he has told his parents. She says her mom isn't strict which is good. Why is she hesitant then? Just tell parents on both sides and sort the matter out. If they don't agree, then I am not sure what to suggest.

im so sorry, i wasnt laughing at her either in a harsh way.

sorry to all,

1) you are in love therefore you will not listen to anyone not even your own mother.

2)its your life - your actions will have consequences SO what choice will you make.

3) people here are just going to confuse you.

4) at the moment ur parents dont know are you ready to handle the crap they are gona give you when u tell all over one guy

5) is he willing to stand by you when ur parents (it could happen) say no and object you to marrying this guy

you need to do some growing up and ask urself some serious questions because marriage is for life not just for fun you know.......how about u get ur wish and marry him against ur parents wishes.......and u need help can u handle the fact that ur family may not want to help you.......

i dont want to put further doubts in your mind BUT u need to ask yourself is this guy worth it and not just from a lovey doevy way BUT in a serious for the rest of ur life way?

the answer for your question is:

Do not tell lies, O Pandit; O religious scholar, speak the Truth.

tell everything to your parents, and speak the truth...

now, it may depend on your age.... if your are in the right age of getting marry, then your parents would support you (hopefully)... but if you are some one who is only 12-13, then you better run away.....

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
