how do you say warrior in punjabi?...... i know a soldier is a fauji, but whats a warrior then?

A warrior = veer

Soorma/soorvir = someone able to fight at least 20 people.

Jodha and Jyangi have different meanings too which I cannot remember....they describe a certain type of warrior.

Basically you can subdivide the warriors depending on their mastery and the area of their skill!

Veer is the purest word only meaning warrior. Sisters started to call their brothers veerji ie warrior ji...its a word which has stuck now but next time someone calls you veerji then feel privaledged since they are calling refering to the noble qualities of a warrior.
