Drink more water and do swimming if you can, it helps alot.

If drinking more water, raise the amount gradually.

lol, when i had train tracks 3 years ago (braces)..... i ate NO JUNK for a year..... and seriously.... lost soo much weight..... no crisps,no fizzy drinks,no sweets ..really works! : )

A smart idea that everyone would be good to adapt to a certain extent.

eat in small portions :)

Another top tip. 6-8 smaller more frequent meals will more likely keep that metabolism revving.

Check it out

There is a misconception that all fat is bad. There are 4 kinds of fats:

- trans fat

- saturated fat

- mono saturated fat

- poly saturated fat

trans and saturated are 'bad' fats, they raise your blood cholesterol etc....

mono and poly on the other hand are 'good' fats. your body NEEDS them. they also help lower cholesterol.

Another great point. Up the amount of essential oils in the form of olive oil, canola oil, flax oil, and pure butter. Lessen fried foods, and margarines. If its hard as lard, imagine how it will be in the body.

umm, yes it is. Do 2 cardio sessions/day, one in morning on empty stomach and one in evening, 35 minutes each. Find something you like to do, it can be something as easy as walking.

I would not complete cardio on an empty stomach. You will just feed on the amino acids derived from muscle. Increase the likelihood of risk of infection and prolonged illness. ALso add cardio gradually after a good strength training program has set the ground running.

A few more things i want to add:

- daal is an excellent source of protein, but it is also loaded with carbs. so its best to limit your daal intake and have a soy based protein shake AT LEAST 2 times/day instead. don't do tharka to your daal. even while using healthy oils (olive oil) it reaches what's called a "smoking point" where oil starts to burn. the way most apney do tharka, that always happens. when oil reaches this "smoking point" it gets converted to trans fat !!!! you definitely want to stay away from that.

- stay away from processed foods

- eat broccoli

- make TOFU your best friend

- eat small portions so that you are hungry every 2.5-3 hours. this comes to about 5 - 6 meals/day. (my friend already mentioned this)

Quite decent points.

theres plenty of info to find on google.

Whatever you do, do not do this. The internet, gyms, and personal trainers are flooded with junk, the latest fads, and all the blatant lies found in magazines and coming from the mouths of juiced up bodybuilders with low IQs to begin with. It is merely MIS-information, compounded on more MIS-information, compounded upon lies, compounded upon false to no research whatsover.

The bottom line is you are not really over weight. get a descent personal traininer to help you gain some strength and you will fill up the gaps and spaces beneath the skin .

If you are really serious and dedicated to losing weight the best ways are a ketogenic diet or carb cycling. You can look these up on the internet or talk to someone who specialises in nutrition or diet for more information. However, these need a lot of self discipline and dedication and are not good for you to do in the long term.

Have you looked at a Body Mass Index? According to your height and weight you have stated, you are NOT overweight. You are still of normal weight. If you increase your weight over 180lbs, then yes-you'll be entering the "overweight" range.

So if I were you, I wouldn't freak out too much about my weight. Just keep it in check and don't pass 180lbs. No rush to lose weight so quickly, thats unhealthy. Do it slowly over time. Thats what a dietitian would tell you.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is not a good indicator of a 'healthy' weight. It fails to differentiate between fat and muscle. (Muscle weighs more than fat by volume). Weight by itself really means nothing, what matters is your body fat percentage.

For example, let's say there is an over weight individual, his height is 6'2" and his weight is 280 lbs. We can easily find a professional athlete who is also 6'2" tall and weighs 280 lbs. Just by BMI, they are both obese. But when we look at a professional athlete, he has a 6 pack of abs to show. Obviously, our pro athlete is NOT obese !!!! He is an extremely fit individual.

I hope that illustrated that BMI is not a good measure to go by :)
