Sikh Software For Iphone

Just wondering if anyone can produce or if anyone is in the process of producing software for new platforms like the iPhone for example. If you take a look at the apps available for the iPhone, you get the Bible (in many languages), the Quran (translated and in other languages) etc but not 1 app to do with Sikhism like SikhiToTheMax.

Anybody know of anyone doing something or has anyone got any skills in this area in order to help do something? You can download the Free Software Developer Kit (SDK) from Apple website but it will only run on a Mac so I cannot look to see how easy or difficult it would be

It is certainly doable, but anything made wouldn't be released until june. I'd wait until then to see if anyone made anything, and then raise the issue again.

I second that...I have an iPhone and it's great....but we are missing a STTM type of program for the iPhone. I have a MAC and could download the SDK and see what I can do, but I'm no programmer. Perhaps, with the help of my gora friend (who LOVES Sikhs!!!) we could at least come up with a primitive SGGSJ searachable type of interface?

i dont know about USA and other places... but in Uk if you get an iphone contract... u get unlimited internet.... and u can always go on websites like..www.searchgurbani.com ...

its unlimited internet in UK.... so utilise the free internet and use online search engines.

I unlocked my iPhone and am on pay-as-you-go so Internet isn't cheap

There are hundreds of 3rd party apps available for the iphone once you jailbreak it, would just be cool to see some Sikh apps to.

JailBroken phones are great...the iphone is great...contemplating selling my nokia E90 and using the iPhone instead.

The new version should excell though..GPS and (hopefully) better camera.

We've successfully tested the first beta version of Gurbani Search application for iPhone and it works great. The application should be available on App Store early next month. It would be installed on iPhone like a regular app and wouldn't need internet/data plan and neither will it require any modifications to the iPhone.
