Yes it does actually. The guru granth sahib ji expects full devotion and sacrifice be given for one's guru. And one should do anything for the sake of their guru.

And the 'other granth' as you call it is the pavitar Sri dasam granth sahib ji. So yes it passes the test with ease.

If people go to deal with external threats to sikhi (eg namdharis- as in India they do not see themselves as normal sikhs but as namdhari's- thats what i have personally seen) then people will reposnd and say, why attack them when you have people in your own ranks who also question guru sahib (eg the guy who got slapped).

If people go to deal with the internal threats, then people say why are you dealing with small fish when there are bigger problems!!

I did say earlier that i wouldnt justify any act, mainly because we dont have the facts to be able to do so. and those facts are still not available.

Is that a slap? Yeh it is in one way. If he was meant to die, he would have been dead, but he's not. We dont have information on the extent of his injuries so cant say too much, but in punjab and even in the west, injuries as shown in the pic may be called getting 'slapped up'. Depends on how much violence you have been involved in.

and beacuse apparently you cant read, ill repeat in all the reports posted it does not say that the women were attacked. it says that they rushed to help the guy and were injured. again think a little bit and you will see that there is a HUGE difference in the two different points!

and you sit there naming these other people, well tell me something, how do you know that people haven't tried getting to them? How can you possibly throw around stuff like that when you have absolutely no clue as to what is happening, has happened etc etc. Dont you feel a bit foolish saying that when you cant say whether someone has tried or has not tried. What is happening?

Firstly, let's look at the man who was attacked.

1. It was irresponsible of the Rozana Spokesman and the Author to use the headline "Guru Panth nu Gurgaddi Saumpee Hai, Guru Granth Nu Nehee". How stupid can you get! The headline gives the impression that Guru Granth Sahib Ji is NOT Guru! Despite the author's intended message, the title still remains offensive.

2. I think everyone would agree that from the very beginning the Shabad/ Gurbani has been declared Guru. Guru Nanak Dev Ji said "Shabad Guru, Surat Dhun Chela" and Guru Ramdas Ji said "Bani Guru, Guru Hai Bani." Despite the Shabad being the Guru, the ten bodies of Guru Nanak Dev Ji contained the Guru-JYOT and were Akaal Roop. In 1708 Guru Gobind Singh Ji "RE-EMPHASISED" the message of all the previous Gurus that Gurbani is the Guru. Further to that the "Aad Granth Sahib" was declared as "Guru Granth Sahib Ji" (even though the Shabad was Guru, it is a fact that the name of the Granth remained as Pothi Sahib and Aad Granth from Guru Arjan Dev Ji onwards). The Guru-Jyot in totality was passed on to Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

3. The Guru Panth was given Gurgaddi in 1699 when Guru Gobind Singh Ji took Amrit from the Khalsa. So one could argue, how could Guru Gobind Singh Ji give the Gurgaddi to the Khalsa in 1708 at Hazoor Sahib when the Khalsa were already the GURU KHALSA from Vaisakhi 1699 onwards? In 1708 Guru Gobind Singh ji "re-emphasised" and made a final declaration that Guru Granth Sahib Ji AND the Khalsa are the Guru. This was physically shown by Guru Gobind Singh Ji doing Mathaa Tekh to Guru Granth Sahib Ji and then taking Hukamnama before Jyoti Jyot.

Let's analyse the attack

1. Violence is the last resort. To attack an elderly man and his family is COWARDLY. If the Singhs felt strongly then they should have met him and talked to him. The author of the article could have easily said, "Okay, I made a mistake" and then seek apology from the Gursikhs. However, this option was not given.

2. Why did the Gursikhs not write a response article clearing up the facts?

It is a shame that these people easily beat up this elderly man and his family and yet the crooks of the Panth and those who are doing Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Guru Khalsa Panth are not touched.

This is the scariest thing for some of us long term Khalistani supporters. Theoretically, if we are ever blessed with this - will this be the type of activity that takes place?

I've always thought that no society will agree totally on any one point (the last time something like that nearly happened was with the Nazis in Germany - look where that went).

What kind of attitude would people have towards people who hold radically different views from them? Will we see violence being dispensed by a power drunk, righteous "thought police" Taleban style?

People could've let the old man have his views and leave him to it. He offered a debate - he should have been defeated there!! I can't believe some <banned word filter activated> posted that what has happened was "chardhi kala" in some way. Is that the kind of idiots we have in the panth? I hope we never get Khalistan if morons like this have any say on anything.

Go give KPS Gill a call instead of showing "anakh" on some buddha and his family.

his point was that the likes of badal want to destroy the concept of guru panth khalsa, which was blessed by guru gobind singh ji so people like him can kill the concept of sarbat khalsa and use token jathedars for their political games.

Here is what exactly happened - first hand info from Sarai managers.

one of the daughters was with him when he was having talks with 2-3 leaders of people who were protesting in the presence of SHO.

2 policemen were on the main gate of serai and on road there were like 40-50 people.

in course of TALKS the tempers started running high, and people outside threatened the 2 policemen of consequences if they tried to stop them, they went upstairs and started banging door, the door of room was locked from inside. at this point the leaders started thrashing the man and daughter stood against the door, meanwhile one of leaders got up and opened the door and people from outside pushed it and started banging everyone in their way, in front of SHO. thats why darbara singh is leveling charges agaisnt serai managers and police that they deliberately got him beaten up
