Medically, I've not trained in India so I don't know how stuff works there... but I wouldn't advise anybody in this day and age to use it as a pain-killer...

If there isn't enough to make any effect to your mental health its unlikely that the pain relief will be very effective, the whole point of using Cannabis for medicinal uses is that (being very untechnical here) the blood rush initiates an effect which loosens muscles, to make any use of the pain relief of Cannabis one would have to be intoxicated...

At the point when one is intoxicated (any amount of cannabis messes with your head!) they feel less pain, the increased heart rate enduces a chemical called dopamine, it is this which is the physical pleasure of being intoxicated... dopamine is inevitably released when any amount of cannabis is used, so even using cannabis for medicinal purposes does intoxicate you, its still cannabis... in terms of mental health, imbalancing chemicals within the brain is a risky game, triggers alot of mental health problems off... in binding with a persons opiod receptors, to any extent leads to health problems...Chemical imbalances are the result, leading to alot of health issues as well as being a lazy one lol

You can't pick and choose how much Cannabis is used, all measures of cannabis affect your mental health due to the chemicals released, this is obviously bad for you and shouldn't be encouraged, we won't benefit as a community from the use of it, we'll be lazy and won't function as well.

One thing I don't get?

I have never seen anypone on cannabis/marijuanan who is not 10 times more lazy, slow and dopey (hence the term) than before. How can this possibly help a warrior?? It will slow down physical reaction times, slow down the thinking process and make you seriously hungry? How can this help?

Opium on the other hand, has clear and proven analgesic effects. So I can see how this may have been used medicinally to stop pain. It is still used to in hospitals.

you're right the negatives outweigh the positives, in the long term use of cannabis is no good to a warrior whatsoever...

For an initial period when the intoxicant is giving you a 'high', the blood is rushing around your body and your heartrate is increasing, then an individual psychologically feels quite invincible, generally we see this as a person's judgement being impaired. However, the after effects of this 'high' results in a person as you said being lazy and pretty much useless as a warrior, the 'downer' often leaves people really flustered and it is after the short-term high that the laziness etc. usually takes place...

There is no difference in how you prepare it, the only difference is the effects are usually developed at different stages... oral consumption is known to have effects which aren't instant, smoking cannabis has a more instant effect. The oral consumption again would be more useful in medicinal terms, but its still not the best form of pain relief.

to make the cannabis which is bought on the black market. you have to get loads of leaves. process them. heat them until they decompose and become a thick black liquid. heat it again. filter it. then heat it again. it is lengthy process which refines the cannabis, and increases its concentration. in the shaheedi degh, there are 5 leaves. unprocessed natural. they do not have anywhere near as much intoxicant to mess you up. like i said before, most of the medication you take when you are ill are worse for your body. like paracetamol tablets, they sit in your stomach for 2 hour before they can be broken down. and only 10-12% is absorbed by the bosy. the remaining 90% passes through the system. and in the long term, they damage your live and kidneys.

sukhnidaan is the prashad given by guru ji which benefits the body. bhang is the other crap that people take.

why do you all argue, if those that want to be akj's and disregard puratan khalsa warrior traditions let them. Im sure those that dont, will continue to uphold asli puratan maryada. According to rattan singh bhangus panth prakash, the khalsa was created to standardise the warrior, eliminating caste, creed, etc. The rules of the khalsa were simple, 4 kurehata, but how they lived was determined by the activities going on at that period - battle, hiding,etc. They ate meat to survive, and made sukha as a antibiotic as well as a boost. The khalsa(nihangs) are a warrior sect of sikhi, we are lions, dont disregard the truth for something that is within fairy tales.

I guess this is the way it should be, back then all the shaheeds were all nihangs, and they were only a few of them, and theres only a handfull of dalpanth fauja now aswell.

Regardless of this forum, and peoples views everyone is still going to do what they want!!
