https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-62524922 Author Salman Rushdie, who suffered years of Islamist death threats after writing The Satanic Verses, has been attacked on stage in New York state. The Booker Prize winner was speaking at an event at the Chautauqua Institution at the time. Witnesses say they saw a man run on stage and either punch or stab Mr Rushdie as he was being introduced. A video posted online shows attendees rushing onto the stage immediately following the incident. The attacker is said to have been restrained by those on the scene.

Saw a Newly Landed (let's turn that phrase into a collective noun. Pendu sounds so arrogant 😅) wearing chappalah in Tesco a few days ago. Brown, crusty feet all over the shop! I gave him a filthy look so that he was left in no doubt as to what I thought of his lack of decorum. They weren't even a smart pair of poolside slippers that most people seem to be wearing lately. Tired-looking, aqua coloured flip-flops. Disgraceful. -

I'm doing my best at this. Any other ideas on how this can be done people? Also, I think Canada may well taint other Sikh diasporas with their vacuous, caste-ridden, bhangra obsession.
