Thats part of the reason why i was asking. From what I read, Bhai Ranjit Singh got a job at the Nirankari headqaurters in Delhi, posing as a carpenter. On the evening of 24 April 1980, he waited with an automatic rifle in a room within their guesthouse. One of the windows gave a clear view of the driveway. At about 11 p.m, he shot Gurbachna from his position just as he returned home from a public function. Bhai Ranjit singh managed to escape by jumping on to a compound wall.

Aparently two other Gursikhs were involved. Any ideas as to who?

Akal takht issused a hukamnama to boycott narinkaries..

Tohra went to nirankaries to get votes for election(not sure sgpc election or state elections.)

Indian Express, a newspaper published the pics. .of sgpc chief violating the hukamnama..

Ranjit Singh gave tohra clean chit saying that newspaper pics are fake.

About the newspaper, its the most bold newspaper in india, who stood by the sikhs during Bluestar.. so guess who is fake, newspaper or jathedar!!!

It was Badal who took Jathedar Ji down.

In my opinion Jathedar Ranjit Singh Ji was one of the best. He was straight on Panthic decisions and would confront people or problems of the Panth.
