On a side note, we should not be judgemental about what type of dastaar a person wears. A dastaar is a dastaar...period !

A person who wears a gol dastaar is no better Sikh than a person who wears a nok wali dastaar and vice versa.

Nok style Turban has been adopted from the times of Sikh Raj in North India-Pakistan and part of Afghanistan , the princes in the Raj of Ranjit Singh wore a Nok-style Turban ,this turban was only worn by royals in the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh , while the Army Units continued wearing Gol Dastaars , OR , they wore helmets , specially designed to cater to Sikh's identity of keeping hair , this helmet was in a shape to cover the Gol dastaar . Helments were introduced when European fighting skills were introduced into Misls , And they were designed to cover the whole of the face except the eyes and below nose area for proper breathing , After the IInd Anglo SIkh War , a lot of Army units which were inducted into Brithish forces , started adopting the royal Nok Turban , as well as the commons , but most of the Sikhs were fighters , and British army gave the Sikhs full freedom , because they knew they are a valuable race.

Wear a Gol or a Nok , doesn't matter , we'll always be glorified.

in my opinion gol dastaar or dumala should be worn because that allows ur forehead to touch the floor when you matha tek. thats tha whole point of matha teking so that your forehead touches the floor. Most nok dastaars dont let your matha touch the floor
