I know about bhai gurdaas vaaran where he states "baitha sodhi patshah" or in DG where guru sahib narrates sodhis and bedis tradition. Correct me if i am wrong as my knowledge is not anywhere near the high level of sants and bharamgyanis. But i want to know about this specific shabd. Please narrate the whole shabd and where it appears, till then it is giving me creeps.

There is a poem by Bulleh Shah who, according to tradition, would have been about 19 when the Khalsa was born and lived till 1757. So he would have witnessed Sikhs being hunted like dogs by Moghuls and their ascension into various misls (including the Banda period inbetween.) I can't remember the dates off hand but I'm wondering if this period includes some of the invasions by Afghans, they may have come later.

Before anyone gets excited, please bear in mind that we have no fool proof way of establishing whether this writing was truly contemporary and that western history "scholars" would give this little weight as it is oral tradition. I found it fascinating nonetheless. Note the reference which seems very close to the "chirian toon baaj laroune" attributed to Guru Gobind Singh. Had this phrase become common at the time, hence Bulleh Shah's use? Rabb Janay!
