How Many A Levels?

OK basically let's keep this short...

has anyone on SS had to go to Uni with only 2 full a-levels?

My cousin will also have 4 as-levels on top of these 2 a-levels but he's a bit sceptical that he'll be able to get into a good uni with all this...

I think he can - cos that means (if he does well) around 380 UCAS points... but what do you guys think??

:6 Because the usual is 3 a-levels and probably an extra AS but becuase of stupid circumstances by the end of the year my cous will have the above....

He will not get a place at a top uni. Top uni's want minimum 3 A levels and a 4th As with good GCSE (A* and A's).

Also its not only about points cos it also depends on on the subjects he is doing a full A level in.....if its general studies then majority of Uni's don't count general studies.....not only do you have to think about the subjects he is studying but also the course he is applying to. If its a tough course where they have lots of students applying then no he will not get a place. But if its a course where they struggle to meet the numbers then he stands a chance.

I know its not a positive reponse from me but its best to know the truth. But saying that I don't know the full picture of which subjects and what grades.

lol how do you do that?

He said that the new college he's goin to have basically told him that he can't do for example English AS and A2 in one year - he would have been able to last year but not now because the exam boards have all changed...so he'd be doing a new AS paper and an old A2 and they don't coincide now...

Well out of the extra AS-levels he has got that he hasn't been able to carry on to A2 he can just choose the one he feels he's best at, and then do it's A2 using a company such as ICS although this is pretty pricey. OR an even more difficult option would be just buy the text books and teach himself. Then he'd have to also enter himself for the exams, either at an exam centre, or the Sixth form if they hold the relevent ones, though I think he'd also have to pay for this himself.
