khanda jaake/jiske haath mein, kalgi so hai sees

so humri rakhya kare/karo guru kalgidhar jagdees

the one who has khanda in his hand, and kalgi in his turban, may that guru (Guru Gobind Singh), the lord of the universe always protect me

That's not from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It's part of the Ardas Dohra, although not everyone includes this part.

For a translation of the Ardas Dohra see this link Sikh Student Association - University of Toronto - Resources the Ardaas Punjabi link has the Dohra translation but it doesn't have the "Khanda ja ke haath mein kalghi sohay sees" part

The Ardas desribed and meaning given (sikhnet discussion)

"Eighth: At the end of Ardas a couplet is recited by the entire congregation, which is, "Agya Bhei Akal ki tabhi chalayo Panth------------------------------------- khwaar hoi sabh milain ge, bachay sharan jo hoi". Some times additional couplets like "Waheguru Naam Jahaaj hai -------------------------- Gur paar utaran haar", or "Khanda ja ke haath mein kalghi sohay sees -------------------------- Kalghi Dhar Jagdish", are also recited. These should not be recited. Only the first couplet, "Agya Bhei Akal ki ----------", should be recited and after this the "Jaikara", Bolay so nihal, Sat Sri Akal, makes the service complete."

Yea

I tihnk its cause the frst part is composed by Guru Gobind Singh

but the other part whcih Rochak jee tarnslated - is jus poem composed by a human being - which may not be sung in the presense of Guru jee

the first couplet

waheguroo naam jahaaj hai charay su uthray paar

jo shardaa kar sayvday gur paar outhaaran haar

waheguroo's name is a ship, whoever boards it will cross to the other side.

whoever does seva with true faith, the guru will ferrie them across this world ocean.

and pyare rochak singh veerjee has put the translation of the second couplet

khanda jaa kay haath mai kalgee so hai sees

so hamree rakhsha karay guroo kalgeedhar jagdees

the one who has the khanda in his hand and the kalgee upon his head,

he will protect us, that kalgeedhar guroo, the lord of the world.

now these two couplets... i think giani gian singh wrote them.

raaj karaygaa khaalsaa akee rahae na koe

khuaar hoay sabh milaingay bachay sharan jo hoay

the khalsa will rule, nobody will oppose them

everybody will finally come together and will be saved when they seek the protection of the guru

this couplet is by guru gobind singh jee, dictated to bhai nand lal jee, in his vaars.

if people say that we should only say gurbani in the darbar, then all of the ardas that is being said is not gurbani

however the panth has accepted it... "jinaa singhaa singhniaa nay dharam hayt sees dithay..." all of this is the panth's writing.

and the panth is guroo suroop.

so we should accept that this is the panthic, proper ardas.

the other writings (waheguroo naam jahaaj, and khanda jaa kay haath) - they are not ba

d, there is nothing wrong with them...

if you say them i don't think you will get any paap - people say them with love ...

but nobody should be told "that is a mandatory part of the ardas" ... because the panth hasn't authentically approved them...

actually, some of ardaas is bani from chandi di vaar, which is from dasam granth

ik oaankar sri vaheguru je ke fateh.... to tegh bahadur simrai ghar nau nidh avae dhaee, sabh thae hoeean saahae

is made by guru gobind singh je

but the rest of the ardaas is made by the panth
