for those of you who condem the hindu religion.... i really think you've missed the point then....

just because some of them are outright loathesome...doesn't mean that they are like that BECAUSE they are hindu...they just HAPPEN to be hindu....

i can name dozens of so-called amritdharee singhs who have done some really bad things....but that doesn't mean sikhi is bad...

to condem hinduism would mean that you are condemming great mahapurshes such as TL Vaswani and Parmahansa Yogananda (and all of his murshids)...

and before some of you come out and say they can't be mahapurshes cuz they aren't sikhs....do yourself a favour and read EVEN a chapter from Autobiography of a Yogi...and you'll be singing a different tune....

and to those of you who will try to claim that Parmahansa Yogananda wasn't a hindu....sorry to say but he IS a hindu and the principle scripture he followed was the Bhagvad Gita...and from what i've read..it's seems to be full of beautiful teachings....

O Nanak, sing of the Lord, the Treasure of Excellence.

Sing, and listen, and let your mind be filled with love.

Your pain shall be sent far away, and peace shall come to your home.

The Guru's Word is the Sound-current of the Naad; the Guru's Word is the Wisdom of the Vedas; the Guru's Word is all-pervading.

The Guru is Shiva, the Guru is Vishnu and Brahma; the Guru is Paarvati and Lakhshmi.

there is only the One, the Giver of all souls. May I never forget Him! ||5||

Siree Raag, First Mehl:

Through the Guru, the Pure One is known, and the human body becomes pure as well.

The Pure, True Lord abides within the mind; He knows the pain of our hearts.

With intuitive ease, a great peace is found, and the arrow of death shall not strike you. ||1||

O Siblings of Destiny, filth is washed away by bathing in the Pure Water of the Name.

You alone are Perfectly Pure, O True Lord; all oth

er places are filled with filth. ||1||Pause||

The Temple of the Lord is beautiful; it was made by the Creator Lord.

The sun and the moon are lamps of incomparably beautiful light. Throughout the three worlds, the Infinite Light is pervading.

In the shops of the city of the body, in the fortresses and in the huts, the True Merchandise is traded. ||2||

The ointment of spiritual wisdom is the destroyer of fear; through love, the Pure One is seen.

The mysteries of the seen and the unseen are all known, if the mind is kept centered and balanced.

If one finds such a True Guru, the Lord is met with intuitive ease. ||3||

He draws us to His Touchstone, to test our love and consciousness.

The counterfeit have no place there, but the genuine are placed in His Treasury.

Let your hopes and anxieties depart; thus pollution is washed away. ||4||

Everyone begs for happiness; no one asks for suffering.

But in the wake of happiness, there comes great suffering. The self-willed manmukhs do not understand this.

Those who see pain and pleasure as one and the same find peace; they are pierced through by the Shabad. ||5||

The Vedas proclaim, and the words of Vyaasa tell us,

that the silent sages, the servants of the Lord, and those who practice a life of spiritual discipline are attuned to the Naam, the Treasure of Excellence.

Those who are attuned to the True Name win the game of life; I am forever a sacrifice to them. ||6||

Those who do not have the Naam in their mouths are filled with pollution; they are filthy throughout the four ages.

Without loving devotion to God, their faces are blackened, and their honor is lost.

Those who have forgotten the Naam are plundered by evil; they weep and wail in dismay. ||7||

I searched and searched, and found God. In the Fear of God, I have been united in His Union.

Through self-realization,

people dwell within the home of their inner being; egotism and desire depart.

O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Name of the Lord are immaculate and radiant. ||8||7||

O Lord, You pervade and permeate all. Lord, everyone loves You.

All beings and creatures meditate on You, Lord. You hold the earth in Your Hands.

I am a sacrifice to those Gurmukhs who worship and adore the Lord.

You Yourself are All-pervading; You stage this wondrous drama! ||4||

LORD INDRA RAPES GAUTAMA'S WIFE

khalsa bir again thank you for the one out of many qoutes on indra in guru granth sahib however you missed more on the subject.

As mentioned before Guru Sahib talkes about dieties in various tones in guru granth sahib ji in one hand they are nothing helpless waiting for death as a normal human, doing gahltis, in another they are given a place as meditating upon God it is important to see the various sides as opposed to the one khal

sa bir provides who attempting to show a static position as well as misrepresenting data from a third source claiming indra "raped" ahilya, however the guru granth sahib states "lust overpowereed her" in the first example given below.

This is why i keep saying khalsa look at the guru granth sahib ji and if your third sources do not tally with that your making a joke out yourself. Then out of your paranoid fury your accusing me of being rss but you left yourself open to question interpreting "equal consumation" as "rape".???hmm whats is the dictionary reference of rape? .

Now going by your description of accusing everyone of being rss just because they wont accept one line as a final answer and give you back more info from the same source from varied angles than just 1 line you give we too cud say your rss whom rejects 10 more examples of gurbani, who is more rss by your own definitions here than me or you? lol

fyi i aint even seen one hindu who worships indra.

i dont think you understand khalsa rss dont give a cats whiskers about religion you can do the same gunth they do all day long 1 your just making yourself look no better than them 2 put yourself in their shoes they do propg not 4 religion but for dodgy reasons they dont giv a toss about principles do you think their gonna be praying lol. most of india is rural unpahd this gives rss the perfect chance.

look their annoying people heartless horrible twisted stay away from them cos youl jus feel like killin em. whatever good you can do in the limited time guru ji gives in this jeevan benefit the sikh quam the rss are never going to back off in their nasha backed by a halimi raj. they think they own everything. This will only change when the day of the khalsa comes. The time when the khalsa take charge , take what rightfully belongs to it as per the rightful heir of india with its 92% pre india sacrifices. Thats when the rss which is built neither on naam bani or ras will evaporate when the khalsa comes together and thunders.

in order for that practically step by step we need numbers, unity look around what we got? we need to build upon each other as a community strentgh pull into one direction. Ladder singh mate you cant climb the top until u take the first few steps, thats why seva parchar comes first that kind of seva that will bring our lost brothers and sisters to the fold of sikhi, when as a community we are strong enough the Khalsa will take what belongs to it thats the whole of india as per the khalsa sacrifices.

you can in your bir ras go bombay kill a few shiv senas, run a few websites exposing vedas lol whats that gonna achieve? or

seva of the right thing that produces more sikhs where its really needed thats more valuable in the long run for the sikh community so we collectively can move towards the panthic goal.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
