Keertan Teacher Needed

Siri Guru SIngh Sabha Gurdwara Coventry ..( aka Cross Road Gurdwara ) is currently looking for a teacher to help teach pupils how to play the Vaja and tabla , does anyoen knwo any good teachers that we could contact?

You could ask a properly trained kirtani like Harjinder Singh Lallie to set up a class there. It would be Dilruba/Taus, Jori and kirtan maryada raag though, rather than vaaja and tabla.

Khaalis that would be the ideal situation , I did contact him but he stated that there would have to be atleast 40 pupils for him to come. So before we can get to that stage we need to build the class up.

Alternatively you could ask Ustad Ranbir Singh (argueably best Taus player in the world) who lives in Leicester to set up a class. He already teaches in Wolves and Leicester.

Aside from raag, puratan bandishes and tanti saaj vidya (most saaj) he also has excellent gyaan on jori and tabla.

i think soho road teachers only teach at soho road, because of a jatha thing.......
