Khalsa School Calgary has an immediate career opportunity for a Gurmat/Punjabi Teacher.

The Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Leading & Guiding the programs to ensure adequate resources are in place to achieve the overall school objectives.
  • Ensuring that the curriculum, teaching methods and community participation are in conformance with the provincial standards and to the teachings of Sikhism.
  • Implementing and following the Sohji curriculum

Successful candidate:

  • Must be a Gursikh (Baptized Sikh) and believe in the Sikh way of living, values and traditions and teachings of Sikhism according to Shri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.
  • An influential communicator who is fluent in English and possess advanced speaking and reading skills in the Punjabi language.
  • A hard working visionary who can think through the process, seek advice when needed and make appropriate decisions.

Educational Requirement:

  • A Bachelor of Education degree from a recognized school/university in North America would be an asset.
  • Canadian teaching experience is an asset
