Sant Baba Baljit Singh Khalsa Dadu Sahib Wale Arrested

I wanted to call and give my view son sikh channel but didn't get through. I am writing this email to sikh channel and if other's feel what I am saying is right they should also write such emails to sikh channel. Please also post your emails here so that people know about it even if sikh channel decides to ignore them.

One of the things sikh channel needs to do is boycott Advocate Inderjit Sangha and other akali dal badal UK leaders from the channel. As everyone told on the calls today that root cause of almost everything with sikhs today is Badal and his family then why Ranjit Singh Rana comes on sikh channel with representatives of Badal. I have also seen Ranjit Singh Rana cover up Badal and his party. The same issue was raised in Panth time on 1st on sikh channel by a youth and then by Bhai Joga Singh in yesterday's update programme. If sikh channel wants to stay panthic they will have to boycott any representatives of badal and the jathedars appointed by Badal. We all saw today how Akal Takht Jathedar showed ignorance about the issue. When people sitting in england can know whats going on, can't Akal Takht Jathedar show some support for Baba Baljit Singh daduwal? First of all Akal Takht needs to be freed from clutches of Badal and sikh channel can do its bit by boycotting badal's jathedar and people from his party and people like Rana who try to cover him up. This might also fetch more financial support for the sikh channel.

Bathinda, January 4

All 57 radical Sikhs, including Sant Baljit Singh Daduwal, a hardline Sikh preacher, who were arrested by the Mansa Police on Sunday, were released today.

Acting upon the state government’s directions, the police released all of them unconditionally and even initiated a process to withdraw the case. “This has been done in the interest of the state as the government wants to restore normalcy,” said Mansa SSP Hardyal Singh Mann. However, finding tension prevailing, curfew was kept in force at Bhikhi town for the third consecutive day with a relaxation of three hours twice.

Daduwal, along with 11 others, was taken into preventive custody on Sunday morning from Gurdwara Jandalisar as his “objectionable remarks” had created uneasiness among followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda on Saturday. Irked over his arrest, his followers had clashed with the police at Bhikhi town on the same day. Later, the police arrested 45 of his followers from the spot and booked them under Sections 307 and 353 of the IPC on Sunday. In the case, over 100 unidentified persons were also included but they could not be arrested.

Facing the prospect of statewide protests, the state government today directed the district administration to order their unconditional release. Following this, Daduwal, along with his 11 followers, was released from the Ferozepur Central Jail at 2 am today. To ensure that they do not go anywhere else, the Mansa Police escorted them to Gurdwara Jandalisar in Bathinda at 4 am.

After a couple of hours, Daduwal held a press conference at the gurdwara and gave an ultimatum that if his followers lodged in the Bathinda Central Jail were not released till January 6, the Sant Samaj and other Sikh organisations would hold a joint meeting and chalk out an aggressive course of action. “It is quite surprising that without any evidence, the police arrested me and then without asking for a bail bond, released me. I ask bureaucrats as well as politicians to decide whether I am guilty or not and stop this drama of arrest and release,” he said.

“As I am out of jail now, I will do my best to build pressure on the government. If they think I will sit quiet, it’s their misconception,” said Daduwal. Ironically, after some time, the Mansa Police called up Daduwal that they were about to release all 45 of his followers from the Bathinda Central Jail unconditionally. Following this, Daduwal, along with a large number of followers, reached the jail and received his followers. Talking to the media, Daduwal said the government had succumbed to the pressure that they all be released. Meanwhile, he announced to hold a religious congregation in Sangrur district from January 7-9.

“Though the government is doing its best to foil our attempts, we are committed to hold it at any cost,” he said. He also accused the government of dancing to the tunes of the Dera Sacha Sauda to seek votes in the next Assembly elections.

Targeting the Jathedar of Akal Takht, Daduwal said, “We have been struggling to get the edict issued by Akal Takht against the Dera Sacha Sauda. But neither the ruling party, which claims to be a Panthic party, nor anyone else, including the SGPC, seems interested in it. If Akal Takht is unable to implement it, the edict must be taken back,” he added.

Guilty won’t be spared: Badal

Tribune News Service

Bassi Pathana, January 4

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the state government would not let any attempt to disrupt peace in Punjab succeed. Badal was talking to mediapersons during the sangat darshan programme held here today.

In case of the arrest of Sant Baljeet Singh Daduwal, he said the law will take its own course and those found guilty of provocation will not be spared. “Strict action would be initiated against all those who indulge in alleged anti-state policies no matter which party they belong to,” Badal said. Badal disbursed Rs 4.50 crore in grants to various village panchayats of Bassi Pathana. He sanctioned a grant of Rs 24 lakh to Nandpur village and Rs 16 lakh to Kalaur village.

Earlier, the Chief Minister visited a dairy farm owned by a progressive farmer Davinder Singh at Kishangarh village.

Badal urged the youth of Punjab to adopt self-employment ventures in allied farming like dairy, fishery and poultry.

Groupism in the SAD came to the fore as council president Kulbhushan Malhotra along with seven other ruling party councillors did not attended the Sangat Darshan programme. They, however, met the Chief Minister at the residence of local SAD leader Rajesh Pal Singh Lalli. They demanded completion of pending development projects in Bassi Pathana.

Curfew at Bhikhi lifted

Rajay Deep

Tribune News Service

Bhikhi (Mansa), January 5

The curfew at Bhikhi town of Mansa district, which had been continuing since Sunday following a clash between radical Sikhs and the police, was lifted today.

However, the restrictions under Section 144, CrPC, which prohibit assembly of four or more persons, continue.

The decision to lift the curfew was taken during an hour-long meeting of the highly placed civil officials of the district that concluded at about 3.15 pm.

Earlier, the administration gave relaxation of about four hours (6am-10 am) in the curfew and observed that the situation was completely under control.

“Though finding the situation peaceful, we have lifted the curfew, extra force will still remain deployed in the town as a precautionary measure,” said the Mansa SSP, Hardyal Singh Mann.

Immediately after the curfew was lifted, people thronged the markets and within no time the whole market was open.

Meanwhile, the SAD (A) chief, Simranjeet Singh Mann, held a meeting at a gurdwara in Ralla village of the district. During the meeting, he held the Deputy Commissioner and SSP of Mansa district responsible for the incident at Bhikhi on Sunday and demanded their suspension. He also asked the government to award a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to those injured in the clash.

Condemning the “inaction and silence” of the BJP, the Congress, the SGPC and the Sant Samaj, Mann said, “It is quite shocking that the police directly interfered into the religious matters of the Sikhs by disconnecting the public address system at a congregation and later arresting Sant Samaj leader Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal.”

On the other hand, the national executive member of the CPI, Dr Joginder Dayal, and former MLA Hardev Singh Arshi, who is the national council member of the party, also expressed grave concern over the happenings at Bhikhi and claimed that these could have been averted.

“Even after all this, the administration is not taking effective preventive measures to check Daduwal’s next programme to hold a three-day congregation (January 7-9) in Sangrur district, which is a threat to the unity, integrity and communal harmony of the state,” he apprehended.

Daduwal’s meetings ‘can’t be banned’

Amritsar, January 5

The Akal Takht Jathedar, Giani Gurbachan Singh, today said no ban could be imposed on religious programmes being held by Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal and he should continue holding the same in different gurdwaras.

In a statement released here today, the Jathedar said the administration should ensure proper security arrangements for the Baba's forthcoming programmes at Nangal village in Sangrur district from January 7-9. He said gurdwaras were religious centres of Sikhs and they could not be stopped from holding religious programmes there. — TNS

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
