Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee president Avtar Singh has said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is ‘true Sikh’ but he had done nothing for Sikhs and Sikhism.

Addressing a Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP in favour of Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala, seeking re-election from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency at Tarn Taran the SGPC president alleged consci conscience the PM did not pricked since he did not bother to ensure justice to the victims though he had first hand account of Delhi riots in November 1984 after assassination of then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. He alleged the Congress Sikhs who were holding high positions in New Delhi, including Giani Zail Singh , then President of India and Buta Singh were responsible for the holocaust since they did nothing to stop the anti-Sikh riots. Dr Manmohan Singh, who later became Finance Minister of India, took charge of Governor RBI on September 16, 1982, serving till January 14, 1985.

Seeking votes for the SAD- BJP candidates in Lok Sabha election, the SGPC president said the Congress should refrain from using the words ‘vote for Sikh PM’ because he is ‘good for nothing’ so far as demands of Sikh community were concerned. He said during his meetings with Dr Manmohan Singh, he had submitted memorandum enlisting the demands of Sikh community, but he did not bother even to read them.

He said the PM did nothing to get justice for the victims of Delhi riots during his five years stint as PM .

Manjit Singh Calcutta, SGPC member criticised Avtar Singh for using derogatory language against the Sikh PM He said Dr Manmohan Singh brought laurels to the Sikh community due to his statesmanship . He said the SGPC should take pride a big political party was seeking votes in the name of a Sikh PM.

Well who says Pm Manmohan Singh has done nothing for Sikhi, we should ask him what have he done for Sikhi...

Because of him, Sikhs getting more respect and more People know abt the Faith and the Value what a "True Sikh" is. In Countrys like Germany, much more Germans know the Identification of Sikhs, 'Cause of the Pm whether he did "SIkhi Parchar" or not.

And for the to get justice... I guess do Muslims have to wait to get justice untill a Muslim is not PM. Same for Christians, Budhists and so on. Everybody is waiting to get justice for something... Akal Takth is higher than the Delhi Takth. Once the Jathedar was respected all over India what abt him? Why can't Gurbachan Singh or Vidanti not give Justice or do something to get justice...

SGPC is a joke in my opinion it's all abt Politics they didn't received any money from congress and now saying this. If they get money they say the oposite... It's always this game isn't it

the man is merely a puppet, and if he really did love his Guru he would use the little power that he has to punish ram rahim for a start. secondaly he should release all those Singhs still locked up, put in prison for joining the Dharam Yudh. he should punish those who killed innocent Sikhs in delhi and make an example of jagdish tyler ,sajjan kumar, and expose amitab bhachan as one of the mob leaders during the 4 days of slaughter. next he should return all of the lands stolen in 1966 if he wants punjab to stay unified with hindustan. he should change the laws to make Sikhs a separate entity to hindus, and make sure that by no means are we ever reffered to as a hindu sect. he should beg forgiveness and take the Guru's amrit himself and lead the country according to the Guru's Laws. he should secure passage for Sikhs to pakistan and fortify the punjab to be ruled autonomously if needed.

if he truly loves the Guru and his first loyalty was to the Khalsa, then he would do all of these things in the name of Waheguru.

seeing as he has done none of these so far i do not consider him a Sikh of the Guru.

if we wont get it through democracy are you suggesting we get it through some sort of dominion? and india a democracy, don't make me laugh it the biggest human rights violator in the world, clearly not ruled by the demos, the people, but by a select few idiots at the top. the PM is just their figurehead they run everything in the background. this means that admittedly he does have little power, but still enough to make those changes I stated. he however does not have the power to assert a free Khalistan, and even if he did have the power I doubt that this man would exercise it.

dominion......it worked before, it can work again. whether we like it or not india is a crude democracy. unlike other countries though it cannot safeguard those minorities who do not go along with the majority. also, the more people there are in a democracy, the more useless that democracy is (the theory of the vote counting for less). back to the topic, a hindu extremist nutcase would kill him if he even thought of doing those things you mentioned. a strong east punjab? dont make laugh. that wont happen as long as there is a strong hindustan and pakistan.

to get back to the question and not focus on the what ifs, examples of so called "true Sikhs" would include Baba Deep Singh, Baba Buddha Ji, the panj pyare, and the Sahibzade. i dont think that this "prime minister" is worthy of being included as one of them.

respect must be earned.

His two daughters in India are married to Hindus and one of them who is in the USA is some kind of liberal left wing nutjob who works for the ACLU helping Muslim terrorists whenever their 'human rights' are 'violated'. She is the biggest hypocrite around, she complains about America violating human rights yet her father is the PM of the biggest human rights violator in the world.
