Amritsar, May 25

A man allegedly entered the Golden Temple here with meat but was held by SGPC volunteers for the “sacrilegious” act, an SGPC official said today. “A man was yesterday held with meat in the pious community kitchen of the Golden Temple in gross violation of Sikh conducts,” he said.

Though he claimed that the person had been arrested, SSP, Amritsar, Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh refused to divulge any information in connection with the incident.

Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Gurbachan Singh, said a high-level inquiry into the “blasphemous” act had been ordered.

Akal Takht REHAT MARYADA is the only one authorised by the Akal Takht.

But you lot only follow Akal Takht when it suits you.

"The Sikh Rehat Maryada a booklet of the Official Sikh Code of Conduct and Conventions sanctioned by Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, the Sikh Supreme Seat of Authority."

The Akal Takht Maryada says you can choose to eat meat, it doesn't state that you can take meat into the Gurdwara Sahib.

It's not about being picky and chosing the right maryada points when necessary. Would you have the guts to take a packet of ham into your local Gurdwara regardless of the Akal Takht stance on meat? I'm sure you yourself know it's not right.

Sometimes we need to use our own intellect, we know whats right and wrong, we don't need to back it up with a quote from the official rehat maryada booklet.
