Sikh Channel And Thier Studio Cameras

We dont have the time to sit on forums answering questions all day unfortunately. We are already short of sevadars, which is disheartening when we see so many Singhs and Singhnia from our local area spending most their time on forums rather than being proactive and actually coming down and volunteering to help us out.

If anyone wants to discuss our policies or any of the issues any further, you can message me and we will arrange a meeting with the station executive panel for you to air your concerns. Thank you.

The executive commitee at the Sikh Channel have been discussing this issue for a couple of weeks - there have been various reasons as to why it has taken a little bit longer than we had hoped to sort this issue out. As a result of these discussions, Naamdharis have been banned from appearing on air. Raj Academy have been informed of this decision and have agreed to comply by this ruling.

Sikh Channel could you clarify the above statement? Have Naamdhari's been banned from merely appearing in the camera shot (in which case they would still be in the studio sitting alongside that ‘Professor’) or have they been banned from coming full stop.

If it’s the latter then I would say well done for finally resolving this issue. However, if it’s a case of not putting them in the shot but they would still be there; then that is not good enough.

As the SIKH Channel it is your obligation to uphold Gurmat principles. Allowing people who follow a Dehdaari, self-proclaimed Guru to do kirtan in the studio is not acceptable.

I hope you will clarify your stance on this issue as it has gone on for long enough now and the Sangat deserve an explanation.

If this is the case then well done SC. You have demonstrated that the Channel belongs to the Sikh Community and you are willing to action the hukam of the Sangat.

Thank you.

Sikh Channel, Thankyou very much for keeping us informed on your decision.

Most UK Gurdwaras take the issue very seriously and would not allow dehdhari groups on their stages. In light of the current climate regarding the high profile dehdhari gurus, it would make sense for all Gurdwara committees to really review the potential volatilty of allowing dehdhari groups on to Gurdwara stages.
