Trusoul...

Being a Gursikh it would be very very very difficult to live a Gurmat lifestyle and also be an MP... not because MPs are corrupt or immoral (contrary to popular media representations)

:(.

Not that i was going to become one, but would be good to know why it would be so difficult ?

When i was 19 i applied to become a Fireman was told that the equipment is not suited for a sikh and due to health and safety i wouldnt be insured. etc.

So a Singh cant be a MP or Fireman, is there anything else we cant do ?

p.s i would have been the best fireman ever ! lol all you need to treat burns is some cold atta !

I believe this party has only been created by tory/labour party to draw votes away from BNP.

There UKIP is a ghost party to suite labor Tories.

Dont vote for them it’s a waste of time – use your protest vote with someone who counts.

dude your saying vote BNP? maybe you have a taagga(thread) loose from your top, get it sewn up or seen to before you become pagal, but serious BNP you must be next!

also one thing i must add, lets say for example BNP got voted in and that nick guy is PM yeah, when the gore come to bash your brains in because your not white just tell them you voted BNP and see if stop and leave you alone :)

and i must add, this is England the movie...when the kala gets beaten up by the gora same thing would happen to when if they were ever elected which they wont as there arent enough idiots to vote for them!

I got a friend who believes once we take amrit we shouldn't have jobs at all lol... alot of under-educated Singhs I'll tell you that!

Basically it would be very difficult to remain impartial when a conflict of interests occurs, most likely you'd probably get excommunicated by Vedanti lol

In becoming an MP you'll find it impossible to avoid a conflict of interests because you'll have to cater and carve out policies with the best interests of the general public of England in mind rather than the Panth or some jathas, it is unlikely as a Gursikh you would be able to follow Gurmat in a non-Sikh country (really any country) as you are not an autonomous inidividual but part of a public body with only the country's best interests in mind.

Fateh!

BNP? What is that?

Two words: Navdeep Bains

Twos words: that's Canada... I don't believe the country follows any religious basis, also the election and policy processes within American countries are quite significantly different in comparison to the UK.

The BNP = the british national party, a party which wants england to remain english, right wing and has racist criminal associates.

In the United Kingdom we would have to remain completely impartial and put aside religious loyalties in order to make policies only for the best interest of the United Kingdom... ultimately in some cases putting aside the best interests of the panth. Most likely you wouldn't be following Gurmat as your not in parliament as an autonomous individual but rather a party who are working towards fulfilling their aims and objectives outlined within their manifestos. We have a couple 'muslim' MPs but they are hardly definitive muslims, and are not very effective at all within parliament.

^ most uninformed post in the world...

mate you either have no knowledge of politics and party manifestos, aims and objectives

or you don't really understand the whole election process...

A protest vote is one we are carrying out not for the best interests of the country, but to refute recent events involving major parties, if we do carry out 'protest' votes as you are suggesting, effectively we'll be left with a representative who is not able to be effective within European Parliament and in the case of the BNP promotes fascism at a high stage...

DO NOT practice protest votes, will probably be the dumbest thing somebody could do in the circumstances... DONT VOTE BNP!

BNP will nver win enough votes to get in power, if the labour / tory find out a person with the name of Singh has voted BNP, they will have to look at themselves.

i wud never want BNP in and they never will its a just a protest vote and to shake the current goverment up.

wow! you really are a bit mental

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
