Ravidass A Religion?

Recommended Posts

Right before anyone goes bashing each other etc, this is for views and to hear each other out.

Dont turn this into a:

- so called Sikhs are behind the veinna incident

- Bhagat Ravidas was a Guru not a Bhagat

At the end of the day we all have .... the same blood, 1x heart I hope... so no mud slinging children, maybe I can learn aswell. While talking to a very very close friend of mine who is from the 'ravidass' sect/group/what ever he pointed me to a website:

www.ravidassiauk.co.uk

Upon reading the website I stumbled upon:

Some of Guru Ravidass Ji's religious scriptures can be found in many publications including the 'Guru Granth', here 40 Hymns and 1 Verse of Guru Ravidass ji's can be observed. Guru Ravidass Ji's Hymn 'Begumpura' formed the preamble of 'The Charter of the United Nations Policy’. Ravidassism is a religion... Religious Symbol is 'HAR' (As seen: Top Left of this page).

RIGHT BEFORE YOU GO OFF ON ONE....

It is true that people from the Ravidass community have in the past, and in unfortunate current day circumstances face discrimination through caste-ism. However I have always believed those from the Ravidass community to be Sikhs and a part of the Panth. My close friend also aligns himself with Sikhi even though both of us dont follow it, well we try.

hmmm....

Mission

To advance and educate the public, with regards to raising awareness of Ravidassia in the U.K.

To generate enough members to call action against non governmental religious recognition towards Ravidassia's in the U.K.

Prompt the national government into reviewing all types of caste discrimination with in it's U.K Law practices and policies.

To know about something one needs to know the actual history of it. Can someone shed some light on ravidasi movement and it's historical significance? otherwise it is just a mob thing, driven by a single objective.

If anyone wants more info on Ravidassia and what exactly it is please PM me. The article I have explains everything about the movement; from origins to rituals.

You asked this question........ Guru Peareo behind this there is a story of several hundred years.... Main reason: some of us ....not just some of us more than 60% think that Sikhi is their property. Like if some one's father is sikh then he is Sikh without taking Amrit, without keepin "Kes", without having Kakar.. They are still Sikh if they spend nights with random girls n they r still sikh if they consider those Sikhs still untouchables who have taken Amrit n tryin to be in rehat maryada comletely....

But Nahin Guru peareo Sikh's definition is something else... Sikh is that who has givin his/her head to Guru n left him/her self in the feet of Guru n left his "Duniavi-Jaat"

coz GurBani Says " Hamri Jaat Paat Gur Satgur ham bheteo sees gur ke"

Dear Saad Sangat Ji personally I don't bring myself into this sort of discussion but yesterday I was talking to my friend in UK he was so disappointed He is Ravidasia... He said "Veer I don't like Sikh Religion" when I asked why he replied...."Veer I love all Gurus but I don't like SIkhs at all n I don't want to be Sikh at all" coz few days ago a person who works with him siad "Hun Chamar apni jaat lukon lai Sardar Ban jande ne"..... n he told that person call himself Jatt-SIkh he goes to massage parlors or night clubs n take alchohol etc... n said" na veer main Ravidasian hi theek han n wnat to stay away from these sort of ppl"...

Now I ask to you saadh sangat ji... did Guru Ji gave us this lesson to treat others... Is this the way of doing parchar of Sikhi????

Gursikh must be so Humble , polite, filled with love n calmness so that if anyone do darshan of Gursikh then must ask him/her where did get these all things from!!!!.. Whoever see him/her must ask who are u!!! n mustask "Please tell how can I get these things to make my life easy in this Kalyug....

But Sorry to say its very very very very very rare.. We wear kakar wear bana read bani do nitneem but just "Bahron chitvian"

One main thing I would like to say about my friend that he is doing bad : if someone call him chamar then he must not leave Guru Granth Sahib Maharaaj ji... but our deuty is to Give them warmness of Guru-sikh Love coz this love is the only way to bring them back from the cage of those "Pakahndi 108 Sant, Pakahni saad" who sit equal to Guru Granth Sahib ji n do beadbi of Gurbani ....

Coz Guru Sahib Him self give them love.. like we can see "Rang Reta Guru ka Beta", "Bidhi CHand sheena Guru Ka Seena"

what a great respect for them.. what a great love for them....

Personally I don't say mistake is on one side only... "They also don't read bani".. Even if they just read those 40 Shabads of Bhagat Ravidaas Ji then they can understand what the actual message of these shabads is!!!!!!

But Still for us as Gursikh we must bring them back with love n just love...

If we see the first battle of Sikh History which was fought in Amritsar Between Mugals and Sikhs then we can see who were the Sikhs: they were all from lower casts... Evan Mugals were laughing that now these ppl of lower cast will fight with our victorious army.. But Naam Akaal purakh Given by Guru Sahib made them so strong to through those mugals away from Bettle field...

Saadh Sanggat Ji Bhull Chukk maaf Karna.... but don't you think as a Sikh we must give them their 100% first, like try to bring them back n try to explain them the meaning of those 40 Shabad n I think if we will start talking to them with Gursikh pyar then they will automatically kick those Pakhandi Saad..

coz I think who ever on this site is not from India can understand the meaning of racism.. like if some one say anything to us due to our religion then we feel bad and if our brothers n sisters call those Ravidasi ppl as chamar then don't you u think that they also feel bad...

So in the end both sides are not right.. but as Gursikh its our deuty to try to bring them back first.. if they don;t listen then leave them with their own stuff... coz if some one want to die n u are tryin to save them but they still want to die then u can't do any thing... meaning of death here is living without true Guru (Poora Guru)... coz if they don't want to under stand "Har So Heera shaad k kare aan ki aaasss te nar dojak jaenge satt bhakhe Ravidaas" then its up to them only....

Bhull Chukk maaf karna ji...

Please do advise if i m wrong some where!!!!

Veer, I feel for your mate around where Im from in the U.K true punjabis show love to one another, you cant go around blaming a few pig-headed people in a justification of making a religion.

On one is perfect, and believe me Im far of the mark. But Like you said its all about love.

This is what I cant understand through the use of internet, youth work shops and camps, why cant we move on from the mistakes of your elders in some cases and just show LOVE & RESPECT.

With starting sites, which are untimately taking Gurbani and exclusively claimining it to be theirs only and starting a religion on this this is just going to strengthen the divides.

Please forgive me if I have said anything wrong.
