During an Akand Path of Sri Dasam Granth loads of coconuts and/or sugarcanes are jhatkaed.

Every time a dusht or rakshash is killed in the pavittar bani of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji a coconut is ceremonially jhatkaed. It is also a way to channel the bir ras that comes from the bani. So a coconut or sugarcane is jhatkaed for every rakshash that is killed in Sri Dasam Granth. This is then distributed as Prashaad.

Doing Jhatka of cocunut is provided as 2nd opnion if first option jhatka of goat is not available it has its significance especially when it's done right after this pauri-

ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਪਠਾਇਆ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ ਨੋ ॥

सु्मभ निसु्मभ पठाइआ जम दे धाम नो ॥

Sumbh and Nisumbh were dispatched to the abode of Yama;

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਦਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਜ ਅਭਿਸ਼ੇਖਨੋ ॥

इंद्र सदि बुलाइआ राज अभिशेखनो ॥

And Indra was called for crowning him.

ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਜੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੈ ॥

सिर पर छत्र फिराइआ राजे इंद्र दै ॥

The canopy was held up over the head of king Indra.

ਚਉਦਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਛਾਇਆ ਜਸੁ ਜਗਮਾਤ ਦਾ ॥

चउदह लोकां छाइआ जसु जगमात दा ॥

The praise of the mother of the universe spread over all the fourteen worlds.

ਦੁਰਗਾ ਪਾਠ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸਭੇ ਪਉੜੀਆਂ ॥

दुरगा पाठ बणाइआ सभे पउड़ीआं ॥

All the Pauris (stanza) of this DURGA PATH (The text about the exploits of Durga) have been composed;

ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੫੫॥

फेरि न जूनी आइआ जिनि इह गाइआ ॥५५॥

And that person who sings it, will not take birth again.55.

Can you show the references or katha that says this? I don't doubt it, I just want to see what the reasoning behind this is.

Preferably a katha by Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale or something to that extent.
