Handmade Kirpans For Sale

Recommended Posts

Guys,

The price is a lot of money, but you can get good quality kirpana for the fraction of the price. In Punjab there are many companies set up to cater for these needs. Carbon steel is the modern day material used to make a good kirpan. Than that also depends on the quality of carbon steel. You can spend in a range of £5.00 to £300.00 on a good blade. The price will depend on the quality of your steel. You can buy the cheap stuff and last you a life time depending on the maintenance of the blade. I have just purchased a Shamshir from Cold steel. The spec is below and the quality of steel. I paid 7500.00 Ind Ruppe.

Shamshir 88STSSpecifications:

Overall: 36 1/4"

Blade: 30 1/2"

Thick: 3/16"

Weight: 30.1oz.

Steel: 1055 Carbon

Guru Fethay

Veerji how much is that in pounds? I was looking at on their website, are they any good and I think they use carbon steel to make realy strong samurai swords aswell so the metal is top. They rely need to start making kirpans so we get decent shastar!

My Brother,

They are extremely hard to get hold of in England, but I could be proved wrong. There is another company that make identical blades, but they have slightly different look e.g. the handle and scabbard. The company that makes these swords are called Windlass, they are an Indian based company.

There version is slightly cheaper than the cold steel version, but the blades are identical (in look and the material used). If you are interested in purchasing this sword, number of American sites sell this sword, it cost around $200-$300. You would have to shop around.

The sword for a modern day blade is fantastic.

Have a look at this following site, this person just gives you a quick demonstration on the same sword.

Good luck and guru fethay

Fateh!

The UK website for coldsteel is http://www.coldsteel-uk.com. They sell the shamshir for £292.10. You can probably order from the States for less money, but UK customs is becoming a little more difficult about releasing swords with a curved blade. Unfortunately, we in the UK have to pay thorugh the nose for good shastar.

Coldsteel blades are excellent. I'm trying to get the guys there to make a decent tulwar and khanda, then maybe some katars.

Regards,

K.

I have number of friends who have ordered this sword from the states, in total it worked out to be £222.00 including customs. Yes its far cheaper then the UK. You have to be careful in purchasing a sword in the UK, it can become difficult and there might be checks done you from the company.

Many of friends did opt for the Windlass sword, it was cheaper. Like I have mentioned above the blades are identical, some people on independent forums and website have stated that Cold steel have used Windlass blades on Cold steel Shamshir. But they are both fantastic pieces.

If you want extreme and top blades, id highly recommend http://www.blades-uk.com/, these lot are so professional and high standard on their blades. If anything is worth the high prices it’s definitely this company.

These blades will require maintenance; also i don’t think they do orders anymore. I think you will be require going to the business directly because of new law regulations imposed on air guns and knives.

But these lot are seriously worth it!!

the cold steel blades are nice but not made by the master sword Smith Jot Singh Khlasa who has won countless sword/knife making awards , along with the kirpan donated to Anadpur Sahib commerating 300 years of Khalsa , the achivement of Jot Singh Khalsa is somthing all Sikhs should be proud of and owning one of his kirpans is a honour for me, but each to their own

Gurfateh Ji

If anybody looking for a Army Style Kirpaan you can have one ordered and also personalised.

We request for kirpaan specifications as we are going to manufacture some very unique kirpana both for Singhs and Singhnia, so please send us any designs or requirements and also we are setting up service if you want gurbani/Dasam Bani Marked on your kirpaan (The Markings on the Blade are exact caligraphy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji"

email for further details

God bless.....the txt below is from the website for Army style Kirpaan!

This is the first addition to the Zabar10 range of products, an excellent quality full tang fixed blade Kirpaan, with 440 Stainless Steel blade, machined aluminium handle, wood style grips for comfort with word "Kirpaan" engraved, and supplied with a leather sheath which can have army style Name Print on the back.

This kirpaan is very innovative and very versatile and I should add extremely sharp due to the fact the steel grade on the blade is 440A, which is far superior to the cheaper and more commonly used 420. However, the factory incorrectly marked these 440C, so grab a bargain while stocks last.

We currently use a variety of manufacturers but we are in the production of our own innovative army style kirpaan!

Comes with custom Gatra, snug fit for the sheath, this is hand stitched with safety button

Note NOT PURAATAN SHASTER...just for the record :)

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
