Marrying A Girl From India

Does anyone know the best way to find a suitable girl in India for marriage? I know the family / friend route is most common. For example a relative back in India knows of a family who are keen to see their daughter married and so arranges a ristha.

However I don't have much family in India and those who still live there don't know any girls so I have to find someone myself. What would be the best way to find a girl outside the family route? I heard adverts in newspapers were common place.... can someone tell me which newspapers are used or how one should go about placing such an advert. Plus this carries a massive risk = not knowing anythingabout the girl's family or her upbringing.

From my view try your place first........try hard !!!

Use India as a last option

Many times you see girls in India seem nice and every thing but you late find out that it was just a big like to get out of the country

My mamma G's son got married to a very gur Sikh girl in India when she came to Canada it all changed.. She cut her hair and every thing !! In the end leading to divorce

Be very careful in India, the youths (including girls) are more westernised than us in the UK. I know of several cases where they have used UK boys to get into the UK, getting their indefinite stay stamp and then divorcing to get their old boyfriend from Punjab over. Punjabi boys also do likewise.

They will present you with a picture of being very humble and kind till after meeting the home office requirement they get that indefinite leave stamp. I know of cases where they have even ditched their young kids just so they could get their old boyfriends over.

london jee why are you so scared?

Jaw mange takhur se, sio sio devvhe

YOU CAN ASK FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT, DHAN DHAN MAHARAAJ WILL BLESS YOU WITH IT. WHATEVERRRRRRR

I'm sorry If I offened you, but you got to listen to me Bhaji.

You can truly ask for anything you want jee, anything. To Vaheguru this whole world is nothing. So for you to even think/doubt that finding a gursikh bibi is hard, then all you are doing is drawing negativity my friend.

Believe me when I say this, forget everything, forget this world even exists, forget your family, forget EVERYTHING. Just go to your local gurudwara and do a plee(ardaas), beg, beg, ohhhh beg for a gursikh bibi, keep begging, beg like you've never begged anyone before, beg for a gursikh bibi at maharaaj's charan(feet). GO for it bhaji, I believe in you man.

There are many shaheed Singhs daughters who have been forgotten about in India, as well as 'abandoned' girls (as babies - abandoned rather than murdered) who have been raised in Sikh orphanages and are Gurmukh through to the core - those who are open minded enough to marry a girl from India and want to perform an invaluable seva to the Panth also - should follow this route i.e. marrying these forgotten Gur-Sikhniyan - you don't have to worry about the above mentioned problems either - these Bibiyan are immaculate, inside and out.

Please, please consider this option.

Thanks.

Very very well said. That’s the best thing that the Sikhs boys in west can try to help out the hurt souls & kuam

If the girls in these orpnage have done graduation in science ( any subject). They have done wonders in achievement under the circumstances,.

I am sure these girls will achieve good career in west too. Picking up local accent & frequency matching will not be problem.

Fateh jee

Bhaji, Just to confirm, I seriously didn't think of that line as gurbani. I thought of it as a just simply a line. I would of quoted gurbani correctly with page number, in gurmukhi etc. I regard bani too high to post it here jee. although it may sound similar, its not. To me, even if one letter of the gurbani is altered it's not gurbani. Believe me when I say I had no intention to misquote dhan dhan maharaaj's bani.

But thanks for your concern jee, it means alot at the same time to see that there are gursikhs around this world who care about gurbani, dhan dhan gursikhooo.

Truly gratefull for this man.

bhul chul maaf jee

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
