In that case do you think someone who loses their temper lacks love?

As far as I understand the human pshycology, we, humans are all having different degrees of vices and virtues and they keep varying in us from time to time and with our age. e.g. at one moment when we are full of anger, we are obviously lacking love. when we are greedy, lacking generous side of us, when full with ego, lacking humility and so on.

Gurbani emphsizes on bringing out our virtues and controlling our vices. They are both created by God though. More understanding of Gurbani we have, more virtues come in a person and vices shy away. One learnes to understand that there are vices and witnesses them being there but not come under their control. Thats how Gurbani teaches how to recognize the problem and how to cure it too.

Now, coming back to ur question, at that particular moment, when one is totally under the control of anger, is lacking love. If not, then would have figured out other way to solve the problem. Anger is the only thing which is not constructive feeling. One looses the ability to be rational. Of course, irrational person is going to make wrong decisions and as you sow, so you reap.

Thanks to those many Sikh who have kept trimming their beards and confused all those who now think a small stubble and a colourful turban accounts for an authentic Sikh look.

yeah thats pretty lame of those who do that.

great stuff jiti Kaur - didn't answer my question though.

First of all, Its not Jiti Kaur, clearly name is Amarjit Kaur and i don't like nick names much.

Secondly, bhai sahib, tusin tend to have selective reading problem or trying to make me have anger and have irrational actions in result.

Sorry you are unsuccessful.

I am not rewriting the answer, so go ahead, dig the answer out of my last post. You can borrow my glasses, if need be :-))

he was acting as the "usal" sikh so i guess it isent offensive. he wasent platying a role of a religious guy or a gursikhs so he obiously dident need to keep a full dara . when i say usal sikh its the trim beards one which youl see everywhere and more than the full dhara ones. even in punjab they trim their dara. as long as he wasent playing a role of a gursikh or some gyani then i dont see a big problem in it.

bollywood pisses me off but these sikhs that we protesting these types of movies piss me off even more you watched the whole movie and the only thing you have a problem with is the fuckin beard <banned word filter activated> i feel like punching them when they say they have a problem with the movie then after the producers make the beard bigger (which degrades sikhi even more) we see the protesters shaking hands with the actors and directors

Why Just Saif in movie LAK, Bollywood has started a trend of making a mockery of Sikhs - SinghIsKing/Gadar and many others ...

In fact, the Gadar even went a step further to show the main character of the movie (a Jatt Sikh) without any hair on head, tying Turban, sometimes keeping Turban, sometimes having trimmed beard and sometimes even completly shaving it. The objective of Gadar anyway was to give a pshychological impression to Sikhs and mainly to Jatt Sikhs that their main enemy is Pakistanis; and wonder who directed that movie? The motive can be understood easily ...

Singh Is king is no less ... It shows a Sikh beard even in a more derogatory manner as compared to LAK.

But, they are able to do this because there exist a lot in our society who do this, which givs them a chance to show the imag like this - There is even some funny opinion in this POST saying it is OK to show the BAANA this way because they show a SIKH, not a GURSIKH. This IS TOTALLY RUBBISH - SEEMS IT IS NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING AND DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SIKH AND A GURSIKH.

A SEHAJ DHARI SIKH IS MUCH BETTER THAN A PERSON WHO FOLLOWS IN THE PRACTISE OF TRIMMING/VIOLATING KESH REHAT MARYADA ...; ONE WHO TRIMS THE SIKH SWAROOP BRINGS A BAD NAME TO THE WHOLE KAUM AND CAN'T BE CONSIDERD AS A SIKH - LEAVE APART A GURSIKH; THE ENTITLEMENT OF GURSIKH IS VERY VERY FAR OFF; WHICH ONE BECOMES AFTER FOLLOWING THE NEXT STEPS OF

"GURU SATGUR KA JO SIKH AKHAYE, SO BHALKE UTH HAR NAAM DHAYAVE , UDHAM KARE BHALKE PARBHATI, INSAAN KARE AMRIT SAR NAWE ....... " THIS IS A GURSIKH, ONE WHO HAs STARTED FOLLOWING AND DEVOTING ON THE HUKAM OF GURU, i.e. NEXT STEP FROM THE PATH OF SIKH WHO HAS THE FULL SIKHI BAANA - Please NO ARGUMENTS IN THIS THREAD ON THIS ASPECT ...

Unfortunately, Punjab seen as the symbol/Icon of Sikhism is the one which is Leading in Beard Trimming/Kesh Patit Practise - Won't point out any specific CASTE FOR THIS .... You leave Punjab and come towards Haryana/Delhi/Maharashta and start seeing more Sabat Saroop Sikhs - How many of those are GurSikhs OR not is another aspect and details of another thread - but if all our Internals get corrected - Nobody in Bollywood can paint a Sikh Image as a Trimmed Beard personality.

More of this also comes as a "Hindutva Agenda" of giving a NEGATIVE MESSAGE to Sikh Youth to make their Baana like as projected as in BOLLYWOOD - IF YOU MAKE THAT TRIMMED BEARD BAANA - YOU WILL BE LIKED BY WORLD/INDIA/INDIAN GIRLS AS MOVIE HAS BEEN A HIT SEEING A SIKH IN THAT TRIMMED-BEARD BAANA AND HERE YOU GO ---The more Youth will become Patit - the more GAP they will start developing from Gurbaani - Better for "Hindutave Agenda" as the first STEP - A slow Poison to Finish OFF SIKHI ... These are very OLD BUT VERY PROVEN, LETHAL AND DANGEROUS TRICKS ... BETTER GET OUR YOUTH EDUCATED IN PUNJAB AND WESTERN WORLD AND ELSEWHERE TO STOP ABUSING THE SIKHI BAANA.

BHUL CHUK MAAF ...

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
