follwoing discussions with a friend, i thought i should share this information emailed from Greggs head office.

IT IS NOT ok to eat from there if you are Amritdhari

"To allow our customers to make an informed choice we display a Customer Care notice in all of our shops to inform customers that we cannot guarantee that any of the products we sell are free from the following serious allergenic products: Gluten, shellfish, eggs, fish, peanuts, nuts, soya, milk, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphur dioxide and sulphates.

We acknowledge that this precaution may result in some customers having a restricted choice. However, due to the nature of our production processes, we are not able to guarantee that a dedicated facility or line has been used for the production of product without these allergens. Similarly, at shop level it is not possible to have dedicated pizza preparation benches or ovens for products. However in both incidences every effort is made to ensure that the possibility of cross contamination is minimised."
