Papi - As u said Chaupai Sahib will help and that I should recite this abni as many times a day as I can, does that mean I can recite it whenever and whatever I'm going, ie, when I'm getting ready for work in the morn, going to and coming from work etc. Also it is ok to recite along to it if I play it on my ipod etc? I know what u mean about ur career being in shambles becos as well as my problem with marriage my job/career is up in the air as well!
Yes to all of the questions. My career is in shambles, marriage problem is something I just try not to think about. It is a problem but oh well...

Another question I know paath is best read/said out aloud but can u also whisper it, say in mind?
Yep, thats completely fine.

i may seem kinda on the other side ... ur looking for a guy and there is a guy who is looking for a girl to get married on this site ... why dont u contact each other ... hmmm ... i just got that idea in my mind so posted it ...

oh veerji, there are thousand and thousands of boys and girls looking for each other. I know quite a no. of them. But when I suggest them to each other, they they talk about height, age, faith etc. etc as issues.

But as we know there is only one made for everyone. back in those days, when I was looking for someone and it was getting to the frustration level, I used to just pray to god that just make the picture of the guy on the back of my palm. then I would know who that is that you made just for me. Well, sooner or later, God did make it happen for me to get in touch with him, but he didn't like the picture idea much and didn't listen to my prayers.

but won't it save so much hassles, if God just did that.

But then I think that if he made it that easy, then we won't grow/develop as he wants us to. There is lot of learning, growing, devolping meant to happen in the process.

As they say the corn has to be grown after certain period of time after we planted the seeds. And it just has to take that long. So guys/girls out there, hang on and let the learning/growing/developing happen while you meet different people on the way. Just don't start picturing your whole life with first boy/girl you come in touch with. Let life unfold the way it has to. You just do the planning/dreaming until about this weekend. Don't dream/plan more than that, otherwise, the hurt feelings are on the way.

The more we run towards something the further it gets away from us. Your whole energy seems to directed towards a desire which you are most likely not ready for. Life is like the flow of a river, it has its calm parts and it has its rough waters, these calm and rough parts are the results of our past actions manifesting themselves.

Without the patience to ride out these blockages as you call them, you will only put your mind in a very stressful state which will begin to affect your health soon enough. What you want and what life choose to give you at this moment are two different things, no matter how prepared you might feel you are for this to happen.

Consider the possibility that you won't marry anyone in this lifetime. What is the outlook on your life? If this outlook looks bleak, then it is not so much about your not finding a guy to marry rather it is your mind's inability to see beyond the socially structured bonding of 2 people. Accept yourself as an individual who seeks to discover her inner security and sanctity first. Strive to find this space in yourself, direct your energy to be dependent on no one nor seeking someone else to fill this space in you.

Remember this, it is not the fullfilment of the desire that will give us happiness, it is the lack of desire itself!

Dhan Guru...

jassa - I did send him a message but as I said before I had a gut feeling that he didn't come on the site. The site has been updated and his profile is gone and so is mine, the one I set up to contact him, so I don't know if he saw the message or not or if he was about to contact me?!

Pheena - U r so right and have hit the nail on the head, the more we run towards something the more it runs away from us. The best thing for me to do is to try and out him in the back of my mind get on with things in my life, and if it is meant to be Waheguru will bring him into my life one way or another!!

Thank-you so much to all of u for ur thoughts, I'm glad I came here for gudiance!!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
