AK47 veer jees post from last year

There were often people who would talk behind baba jis back, but in my own personal time i never saw anyone come to baba ji's face and speak to them about anything that they disagreed with.

From my own experience if baba ji ever heard about anyone doing their nindiya he would just laugh.

But on one day singhs told baba ji about how a paper had posted an article about fake saints and had included the name of sant baba gurbachan singh ji in the article as well. It insulted him and called him a fake etc etc. This was around 23:00 at night that baba ji heard about this article.

Baba ji immediately said to the singhs, where is this news reporter bases. Baba ji was in southall at the time and the news paper was midlands based. Baba ji said get the cars and singhs ready were going to go sort this man out now. The singhs tried to explain that it was late at night and that the office would be closed but baba ji was saying no we must sort this out, how can anyone do nindiya of a pooran mahapursh like sant gurbachan singh ji. Finally the singhs manaaged to contact the press guy who apologised and agreed to do a withdrawal of the article.

Just goes to show that baba ji while laughing when people insulted him, could not stand the slander of true gurmukhs and mahapursh - such is the pyaar he had for sant baba gurbachan singh ji. He wasnt just words, baba ji was a man of action

Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale

10.jpg

Sant Kartar Singh Jee Khalsa was born in 1932 AD, to Mata Labh Kaur & Jathedar Chanda Singh Jee, V. Purane Poore, Tehsil Kasoor, Dist. Lahore, it is now in Dist. Amritsar. Jathedar Chanda Singh was a great Gursikh of high morals and good discipline. Sant Kartar Singh Jee was first educated at the Government Middle School Khemharan, 9th & 10th grade were studied at National High School Bhikhivind, after which further studies were made at Khalsa College Amritsar. Along with worldly education, Sant Kartar Singh Jee was educated in Gurmat by Baba Baga Singh Jee who lived in their village. With the grace of Guru Jee, he quickly learnt his 5 morning prayers, Reharas, Kirtan Sohela off by heart. They were still a student when in 1948 AD, they took Amrit at Bhindra from Sant Gurbachan Singh Jees Jatha who were at Bhindra at the time. After taking Amrit they became very close with Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee.

02.jpg

Whilst studying at Khalsa College they used to remain engrossed in Simran and prayers. They used to recite a lot of Gurbani, over and above the compulsory Nitnem for Sikhs. His Anand Karaj was performed in 1950 at the age of 18 years. Two sons were born who are, Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh Jee and Bhai ManJeet Singh Jee. With the permission of Khalsa Jee and to fulfil his fathers desire, Sant Kartar Singh Jee became a Patvari (village level revenue official who keeps records of land holdings, crop surveys and calculates land revenue) for a while, but in 1957 AD he resigned from his job and started living in the Jatha on a permanent basis. For some time they did the seva of being a Garveye (similar to personal assistant) to Khalsa Jee. Daily they would recite the 5 morning prayers, Jaitsri Di //, Satte Balvade di Vaar, 25 Ang of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and in the evening they would recite the Panj Granthi, both Bareh Maha and many Japjee Sahibs in Khalsa Jees presence. They were dedicated in their seva and would willingly do any seva.

12.jpg

He used to remain engrossed in Simran and Gursikhi Parchar, thinking about the Sikh nation at all times (Chardhi Kala of the Sikh Nation). They would always be thinking about why Sikhs were straying away from Sikhi thinking - Have Sikhs forgot the Gurus actions that were for the benefit of us? He would discuss with learned Gursikhs what strategy should be undertaken to ensure that the message of Sikhi can reach each and every household. They would perform their duties till 12am/1am, and would wake up at 4am this was their daily timetable. He used to say, God has blessed us with beautiful bodies, he gives us good food and the greatest of all he has blessed us with birth into a Sikh household, then if we get tired or lazy we do not have the right to live as we should be dedicating each breath to Sikhi Parchar.

11.jpg

They used to get happy and energised, when more Katha was performed in the day, whilst touring doing Parchar. They had that much love for Sikhi that they wanted all to take Amrit and become Sikhs, he used to say what a great sight it would be if in all directions we would have the sight of Singhs. To get bookings of Sant Kartar Singh Jee was very hard as their was much demand for them. Sant Jee never refused anyone, at Gurdwara Nabha Sahib they became very ill and the Singhs had to assist them up the stairs, after which sangat from Chandigarh came at 10pm and said that there is a Divan taking place and the whole sangat is waiting for your presence even if you attend and speak for only 10 minutes the Singhs tried to convince Sant Jee not to go due to ill health but they still went to Chandigarh sector 19D and did Katha for 10 minutes with much fervour. When many people used to ask for their presence they used to say, Singhs we have no guarantees from our humanly bodies, so we should do Sikhi Parchar to our hearts content as much as is physically possible.

04.jpg

He used to say that for Sikhi to flourish, a Parcharaks lifestyle should be exemplary and disciplined. With regard to this they emphasised that each person who publicly speaks at the Gurdwara from the stage must be Amritdhari. He advised the committee of Sri Patna Sahib with regards to this and they issued an edict/Hukamnama stating this, with which 36 Dhadi Jathas and many Parcharaks became Amritdahri. Delighted with this Sant Kartar Singh Jee gave saropas to these Parcharaks on 7th October 1976 AD at Bir Baba Budha Sahib Jee. 250,000 peope had congregated, Sant Jee narrated the history of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Jee and other Shaheeds and 5,000 men out of the Sangat stood up and promised never to drink alcohol again or cut their hair. Whenever anyone used to ask for their presence at their home, if they were Patit (not within Sikh Code of Conduct), cut their hair, drank alocohol/take intoxicants until the home owners would promise that they would give up drinking alcohol/taking intoxicants or stop cutting their hair they would not go to their home or eat anything from them. In this way they put many onto the path of Sikhi.

14.jpg

Siri Guru Tegh Bahadurs Jees 300th Shaheedhi day was celebrated by Sant Jee by getting organisations, Jathebandhis, Colleges participate in Sikhi preaching. In relation to this during the emergency period of the government 37 great processions were carried out in various locations the achievements of which are beyond description. The whole Sikh world was awakened by these great events. Sant Jee would stand for 15 hours at a time doing Parchar. A 100km long procession would go pass 60-70 villages and Sant Jee would do parchar for 10-15 minutes at each village. Each villages Sangat was made to sing the following slogan:- May my head be sacrificed, but not my Sikhi ads. Sant Jee replied that the 2 ministers should be informed that the procession is being performed in memory and honour of the protector of the Hindus Hind dee Chadar. The ministers should remove their shoes and stand with both hands folded and clear the road for the procession to pass. Sant Jee was asked to lay the foundation of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur charitable hospital in Ludhiana, when Sant Jee arrived their about 15-20 men got up in the Divan to welcome Snat Jee. Sant Jee walked out and left. The organisers went and asked the reason for this exit and Sant Jee replied that in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee no-one should stand to welcome or respect another, as this degrades the respect of the Guru. All the organisers asked for forgiveness, Sant Jee sent them all back into the Divan and Sant Jee went in by himself after all of them. Sant Jee explained to them that it doesnt matter how famous the leader or great a Gursikh is no-one is greater than the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

08.jpg

In Delhi on 7 December 1975 AD to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Shaheedi of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee, in the Ram Lila ground, a procession of 2.2 million people arrived and P.M. Indira Gandhi came onto the stage and in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee all those on the stage arose to welcome and respect her, but it was only Sant Kartar Singh Jee who remained seated. On the stage Sant Jee spoke passionately about this anti-Sikh act. Many leaders who spoke on the stage said that P.M. Indira Gandhi had built an excellent relationship with Punjab, after which she said, the Delhi government got Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur martyred and today the Delhi government prostrates to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee. The same Delhi government who were given reports against the Sikhs today respects and reveres Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee. Sant Jees time to speak was after P.M. Indira Gandhi, they began with, First Rajput Kings used to give their daughters to get rewards. Today Sikhs are disgracing themselves if they do the same. For this reason no Sikh is to marry their daughter to a Mona or a patit and the rehatnama says: kMinAw dyvY isK ko lyvY nih ikCu dwm [ soeI myrw isK hY phucy gur ky Dwm [ Guru Gobind Singh Jee is saying that the Sikh that marrys his daughter to a Sikh and does not take any money/dowry, he is a true Sikh of mine and will reach my abode in Sachkand. (Bhai Sahib Singh Rehatnama, p.160)

15.jpg

The second point that they clarified was that We want to ask Indira Gandhi who achieved the rule of the Delhi government? If you have come here to prostrate to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur you have done no great act. If Guru Jee had not become martyred the master of this throne would have been a Muslim and everywhere all would be greeted with Salema Lekham. You yourself would have been under a Burka. The number of hairs that are on the body of the P.M., even if she was to cut her head off that many times and placed at the feet of Guru Jee, she still would not be able to remove the debt owed to Sri Guru Tegh Bahaur Jee. Regardless of how powerful the P.M. no-one is more powerful than our Guru. She should prostrate to our loved one, the light of the 10 Kings - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee, not that we get up and pay respect to her. Upon this Jakaras were heard from all areas of the arena. Due to the truth being spoken by Snat Kartar Singh Jee, this led to disputes being raised by P.M. Indira Gandhi with the Damdami Taksal. If anyone disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee they Sant Jee never tolerated it, regardless of who they were. Thus they spoke up against the Nakali Nirankaris and did programmes to tackle their onslaught on Sikhi. Sant Kartar Singh Jee was the Jathedar of Damdami Taksal for 8 years and did much Gurmat Parchar in this time. On 3 August 1977 AD they were travelling from V. Maleeha (n) (Jalandhar) to Solan and at the station Hussaainpur (near Ludhiana), their car crashed into a tree where they were critically injured. They were taken to C.M.C. Hospital. They ascended to Sachkhand here on 16 August 1977. The Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash, which they built in memory of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa at Mehta was where they were cremated on 21 August 1977.

Sant Gyani Baba Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa and the glasses of smundar

099_JATHEDHAR.jpg

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale would always prepare smundar for Sant Gyani Baba Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale every night. He would always have two glasses of smundar (full garvee), one for Sant Ji and one glass for any other Gursikh sitting with Sant Ji. One night Baba Ji prepared two glasses of smundar and was sitting with Sant Ji. One Gursikh sitting near was reading Bani. Suddenly, four gursikhs came in the room. Sant Ji told Baba Ji to serve smundar to gursikhs. Baba Ji covered the garvee with a cloth and started filling up the steel glasses. All four gursikhs drank smundar and after a while all left. Sant Ji then said “Baba Ji, please give me and this Gursikh some smundar too”. Baba Ji filled two glasses and gave ‘em to Sant Ji and the Gursikh. Then Baba Ji left and Sant Ji told the Gursikh to leave. As the Gursikh was leaving he looked in the garvee and there was still some smundar left. Six glasses came out of a garvee of two. This was the power of true Gursikhs.

SantKartarSingh-745313.jpg

During Sant Kartar Singh Ji’s time it was very common for dhahddis, parcharaks and kirtanis to be non-Amritdharis. Sant Ji always preached that if Sikh preachers don’t follow rehat then how can we expect other people to follow it. Not only that many Akhand Paathis would have someone from sangat do their duty and then they would leave. At many such occasions Akhand Paath was not properly done. Unfortunately this bad habit came to jatha though all members of the jatha were amritdharis. The jatha went to Nabha Sahib, and Akhand Paath was going on. One singh was given the duty of “pehraydaar” to wake up the gursikhs for rauls because alarm clocks were not available everywhere. One gursikh’s raul was at 12am. Soon after he called the pehraydaar and gave him the signal to sit on Japji Sahib raul. Then he went to his room and fell asleep. Both Akhand Paathi and JapJi Sahib paathi sat for six hours. Then singhs for 6am raul woke up and sat for their raul. When Sant Ji found out about this, he called the patthis who did not wake up. They blamed it on pehraydaar for not waking them up. Pehraydaar came and told everything. He said that he could not wake up anyone because the paathi of 12am raul left and never came back. Sant Ji punished that paathi and sent him home. Then he warned other singhs to never do it again and read bani to enjoy not because they have to.

Sant Kartar Singh Ji started many Nagar Kirtans after he became jathedar of Taksal. At one nagar kirtan, sangat stopped in one village to rest a little. Few men standing at some distance were talking among themselves and were trying to recognize who Sant Ji was. Sant Ji never dressed any different than jatha singhs so they couldn’t really figure out. Sant Ji came running to them and said “Khalsa Ji, this body’s name is Kartar Singh.” And then Sant Ji went back to his vehicle. They were really surprised at this but true gursikhs know everything.

Sri Maan Sant Gyani Baba Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and Gurbani Vichaar

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

065_JATHEDHAR.jpg

One time, Sant Ji was sitting in his room with couple of gursikhs doing Gurbani vichaar. Sant Ji always sat equal to sangat, never higher. Just then a gursikh entered, said fateh and sat on Sant Ji’s bed. This gursikh considered him a great katha vaachak who had studied Arabic, and Sanskrit granths. Gursikhs sitting with Sant Ji were about to throw him down but before they could get up Sant Ji stopped them and smiled. Sant Ji humbly asked his haal chaal and then served him jall paani. Then Sant Ji said, “I have a question. Will you answer it?” Gursikh said yes. Sant Ji said, ““Gur Seva Tay Bhagat Kamayee, Tab Eh Manas Daihee Payee” what does it mean?” Gursikh said, “We have come into human form after serving Guru Ji and doing simran.” Sant Ji questioned that if after serving Guru and doing simran we come into human form then what would liberate us from this human form because surely simran and seva will only bring us back to human form according to you.

170_JATHEDHAR.jpg

Hearing this gursikh was a bit surprised and had no answer. Then he folded his hands and said, “Please enlighten me with real meanings.” Sant Ji said, “First sit equal to sangat on the floor then we will talk.” Gursikh got up from the bed and sat on the floor then Sant Ji explained the meanings with so many examples. After hearing such beautiful veechar the gursikh left. He said he thought that Sant Ji probably did not have much understanding of Gurbani but he was wrong.

The family of Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

02.jpg

Sant Gyani Baba Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale treated jatha singhs like his family. He loved each and every Gursikh very much. Every gursikh used to say that Sant Ji loved him more than others.

206_JATHEDHAR.JPG

Sant Ji would get new clothes for gursikhs first and then for him. One time a rich man brought new blankets and jackets to Mehta for all gursikhs. Sant Ji called a singh whom he had hardly spoken to before and said, “Your blanket is very old and you don’t have a jacket in these cold days. You do Aasa Di Vaar in the morning and you feel very cold. So here, pick one blanket and a jacket of your choice.” Gursikh was surprised at how Sant Ji knew all this so he picked one from the top of the pile. Sant Ji told him to put those away and took one blanket out from the middle of the stack and one jacket and gave them to Gursikh and said, “These are the best ones. You do seva and kirtan so you deserve to have the best ones.”

Mainoo Dukh Aavay

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

One time,a rich couple invited Sri Maan Sant Gyani Baba Kartar Singh Ji and the rest of the jatha for langar. Both were very religious. They had been married for many years but had no children.

10.jpg

After langar Sant Ji stood up to do ardaas and asked the family if they had any wishes. Singh did not say anything but his wife said “Mainoo dukh aavay (I wish to spend my life full of sorrow).” Sant Ji smiled and did the ardaas. After leaving their house some singhs asked Sant Ji the meaning of doing such ardaas of asking for sorrow and pain. Sant Ji said “When people are happy they never remember Guru Ji. Only when they are in trouble, pain or suffer remember Guru Ji and do ardaas. The purpose of bibi’s ardaas asking for sorrow was just one way to remember Guru Ji. She does not want such happiness that would make her forget about true Guru Ji. She rather have sorrow and pain, this way she will always remember Guru Ji. But know one thing; the sorrow she asked for will bless her with true happiness of Sikhi. So do as much simran and read as much Bani as possible, who knows one day Guru Ji might do kirpa and bless you with the same sorrow bibi ji asked for.” May Maharaj bless the whole world with such Dukh.

Sant Giani Kartaar Singh jee life episodes

Sant Ji was at the Village Malseea. A Singh did benti to Sant Ji that they wanted them to go to Shimla. Sant Ji said that they havn’t got hukkam from Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa to go to Shimla, but the Singh kept on doing benti to Sant Ji so after a while Sant Ji said to the Singh that they will go to Shimla. Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale once told Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale that they have got a short life but in their short life they will have to do a lot of work. So when they set of from Village Malseea, they obviously knew what’s going to happen, so before they sat in the car, Sant Ji said a pangti which was : “The Rivers And Streams Which Separate May Sometime Be United Again” In the car, next to Sant Ji was Bhai Gurmukh Singh Ji Garvai. During the journey Sant Ji got the driver to stop the car and Sant Ji swapped places in the car with Bhai Gurmukh Singh Ji Garvai. When they got to Ludhiana they had a car accident and Sant Ji got badly injured, but Bhai Gurmukh Singh Ji Garvai didn’t get any injuries. The car slipped off the road. Sant Ji then got taken to C.M.C hospital in Ludhiana, on arrival Sant Ji asked some Singh’s to go and bring Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa. Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa read Gurbani for Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa in hospital.

Santjarnailsinghjiandsantkartarsinghji.jpg

All the Akali leaders came to visit Sant Ji in hospital, and the Singh’s told the hospital staff that to make sure Sant Ji gets better, and they will give whatever it costs. But the doctors said that they will have to do an operation and cut some hair off from Sant Ji. Sant Ji said, while rubbing their hand over their chest, that the doctors can cut of their head but they can’t cut any of their hair off.

scan0001.JPG

Sant Ji didn’t let no one cut their hair from their body, not even to get better from their injuries. Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale passed away on 16th August 1977. Sant Ji was cremated at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash. Mehta on 21th August 1977. Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale told Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa "that your incharge of Damdami Taksal, its your responsibility to give the Dastar to the next Jathedar". Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa tied the Dastar on Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

At Bir Baba Budha Sahib Jee

179_JATHEDHAR.jpg

At Bir Baba Budha Ji, Sant Ji was doing parchaar and they where taking about Naujawan Singh’s that the government kill and are ruining their lives. Sant Ji spoke that they are fully against this matter. Sant Ji also said to the government that to put hancuffs on them and take them but to leave the Singh’s alone.

Sant Ji also said that as from today Damdami Taksal’s Jathedar will be Bhai Thakur Singh Ji. There was a big turn out of Sangat and all the Sangat started doing Jakare.

Sant Kartar Singh Ji in the same light as Christ

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale the 13th Jathedhar of Guru Ji’s Taksal was a puran Brahmgyani. When they were returning home the car Sant Ji was travelling in was involved in an accident. When Mahapursh was found he was very badly hurt. But this saint of Akaal Purakh didn’t cry out in pain or worry about his own body the only thing he was concerned about was his kakkars. That was the only thing Mahapursh kept asking about. Due to his injuries Sant Ji was taken to the Christian Medical College in Ludhiana. This hospital is run by Christians and most of the doctors who work there are from outside Punjab. Anyways when Mahapursh was brought into the hospital George, one of the workers I spoke to said everyone could tell that a saint had come. Mahapursh was on everyone’s mind and all the staff would talk amongst themselves about Sant Ji. With Mahapursh there were about 30-40 singhs, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji was one of those Singhs. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji used to do a lot of seva for Mahapursh and George remembers Sant Ji, Mahapursh and the rest of the Singhs with great love. Many patients who were in the hospital were Sikhs and when they found out that Sant Kartar Singh Ji was in the hospital they went to go and see him. Being blessed with the darshan of Mahapursh was enough to cure some of these patients as in Mahapursh’s room Gurbani was being recited 24 hours a day. One of the senior surgeons in the hospital was in charge of Sant Ji’s care. When he examined Mahapursh he could feel an intense energy, which was very difficult to put into words. This surgeon began to think of Jesus Christ and began to see Sant Kartar Singh Ji in the same light as Christ. The surgeon told Mahapursh that he was very badly hurt and that they would have to perform a very big operation which would involve shaving his kesh to save his life. Mahapursh looked at the surgeon and said, “Cut my head off but never even think about cutting this Kesh which Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj has blessed me with.” The surgeon was not surprised by Sant Ji response as he knew that Mahapursh was a man of God who didn’t fear death but feared disappointed his father Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. The surgeon then promised to do whatever he could to keep Sant Ji comfortable. To which Mahapursh replied, “In this room the bani of Akaal Purakh is resounding. This is all I need.” To be continued.

THE JATHEDAR

Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale

003_JATHEDHAR.jpg

The 20th century’s great General, the heart of the Sikh youth, charismatic personality, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Bhindran Wale were born on 1947AD at village Rode, Dist Faridkoth to Baba Joginder Singh and Mata Nihal Kaur Jee , Baba Joginder Singh Jee was a dedicated sevadar of the Sikh Nation. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee took Amrit when he was about 5 years old and remaining committed to prayer, was made his life long aim. Daily they would recite 110 JapJee Sahibs and the Panj Granthi whilst doing his farming duties. They remained at their village and were engrossed in meditations for 11 years. He had little formal education but his memory was astonishing. Sant Jee memorised the following Bani’s, Dakhani Oankar in 1 day, Sukhmani Sahib in 13 days, and Sidh Gosht in 1 day and Asa Di Vaar in 8 hours.

008_JATHEDHAR.jpg

When Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa arrived at village Rode as he did every year, he took in one of the 7 sons of Baba Joginder Singh to live in Jathan Bhindra on a permanent basis, who was Sant Jarnail Singh Jee. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was educated in the knowledge of god, by Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa. In 1 year they learnt the correct pronunciations of Gurbani and Gurus history. His Anand Karaj was performed in 1966AD at Village Bilaspir with Sardar Sucha Singh’s daughter Bibi Pritam Kaur. He has two sons who are Ishar Singh born in 1971and InderJeet Singh born in 1975. After Sant Giani Kartar Singh Jee Khalsa ascended to Sachkand, Sant Jarnail Singh Jee was appointed the Jathedar of Damdami Taksal. The current acting Jathedar Baba Takhur Singh tied the Dastar of Jathedari on Sant Jarnail Singh Jee, after which Takhat Sri Patra Sahibs Jathedar Bhai Mohan Singh Jee presented Sant Jee a Siropa on behalf of the Takhat Sahib.

Under his Jathedari of Damdami Taksal, Sikhi Parchar with much fervour and passion was started, for 8 months they did parchar touring Punjabi villages/cities, Madh Pradesh U.P, Bombay and Calcutta and other areas, arriving at which they performed effective Parchar. They were about to embark on their second tour of parchar when on 1978 Vaisakhi, the Nirankaris had announced a large gathering/programme. Sant Jee accepted the challenge of the Nirankaris. The Government and Anti-Sikh sentiments started to say that Sant Jee was an extremist and terrorist, but still Sant Jee came out untarnished and the Damdami Taksal’s fame and respect kept rising.

The Damdami Taksal were the first to take note of the anti-Sikh practises of the Nakali Nirankaris, Damdami Taksal’s Jatherdar and Singh’s in 1953 had discovered that the Nakli Nirankaris were distorting the message of the Sikh Guru’s, Sikh history, Sikh religion and discipline. The discoveries of Damdami Taksal were never acknowledged or attempted to be understood by many. About 18-19 years from today, in Tamil Nadhu, some low-cast Hindus became Muslims, and the whole of the Hindu society was angered and worried by this act. Even in Indian parliament the question was raised as why the low castes Hindus are converting to Islam. As a direct result of which organisations such as Vishav Hindu Pareeshaad and Verat Hindu Samelan were born. In Hindustan there is about 87% Hindus of the population (approximatley 60 billion). If out of the Hindu nation some convert to Islam then this is seen as a threat, if the Sikhs who are 2% of the population are attacked ideologically, this is not seen as a threat. To get to this conclusion does not need much assessment. This threat was first pointed out by the Damdami Taksal; the Damdami Taksals aim from its onset has been to tackle those opposed to Sikhi. To make opposition to those opposing Sikhi, is not to oppose other faiths. It is similar to the Hindu faith followers of low castes converting to Islam opposing this, it is not necessarily opposing Islam. Damdami Taksals primal duty has been to tackle attacks on Sikhi- regardless if they are sects of Sikhi or exterior threats, but it is not to oppose other faiths.

Sant Jee found out that the Nakali Nirankaris were going to do a procession in Amritsar, in which their leader and his wife will be seated in a canopy and that much anti-Sikh propaganda will be done. Singh’s sent by Sant Jee and the Akhand Kirtani Jatha went peacefully to protest against the Nirankaris, but the Nirankaris met their peaceful nature with gun fire and 13 Singh’s were martyred and many were injured. After this bloody encounter their event still carried on for more than 3 hours. The government openly supported the Nakali Nirankaris. On 24 April 1980 the Nakali Nirankaris leader was assassinated, for this assassination both the government and the Nakali Nirankaris made Sant Jarnail Singh Jee a prime suspect. On 9 Sept 1981 Lala Jagat Narain was assassinated and a warrant for arrest was issued for Sant Jarnail Singh Jee. Sant Jee voluntarily courted arrest on 20th September 1981. He was taken too many places and questioned on many issues whilst in custody. But no evidence was produced against Sant Jee and he was released without charge.

On 26 April 1982 a Morcha (campaign) was started to get Amritsar holy city status. Some Singhs of the Jatha and Bhai Amrik Singh Jee (AISSF) were arrested. Sant Jee began the Dharam Yudh Morcha on 19 July 1982 to get the innocent Singhs freed.

The Dharam Yudh Morcha was also adopted by the Shiromani Akali Dal on 4 August 1982 and they declared that the Morcha would continue until all demands of the Anandpur Sahib resolution were met. In the first three months of the Dharam Yudh Morcha 40,000 Singhs courted arrest. The Delhi government weren’t giving an inch and not even one of the demands were met. Due to the press coverage and mass participation in the Dharam Yudh Morcha, the government began to criminalise and persecute the Sikh community, through its propaganda and tools of state machinery. The government propagated the view that Sikhs wanted the whole of the India to be divided into many nations and that Sikhs were enemies of Hindus. They propagated the view that the lives of Hindus in Punjab were under threat and that an exodus of Hindus from Punjab had begun.

Sant Harnaam Singh Jee Rampur Khera Sahib Valeh

The Asian Games of November 1982 were being held in New Delhi. The Sikh leaders had expressed their desire to inform the world media at the Games that Sikhs had been discriminated against since independence in 1947. Prior to independence Gandhi, Nehru and the like who had given promises to the Sikhs, had not fulfilled these promises. Indira Gandhi hinted to Bhajan Lal that Sikhs should be discriminated against during the games, due to Bhajan Lal’s orders every Sikh was interrogated prior to entering Delhi, to ascertain if they were terrorists or not. They were treated very badly, they were rigorously searched and questioned, to the extent that Ex-Cabinet Minister Swaran Singh, Retd. Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh, Retd. General Arora were even interrogated. Sikhs were given a strong message that they are 3rd class citizens and that they are unwanted residents of India. This disrespectful, unwarranted treatment was not criticised by state or central government, the press or intellectuals did not question this disgraceful treatment. No Sikh Congress Minister resigned in protest. Only one conclusion could be drawn from these events, Sikhs are an oppressed minority in India.

Indira was convinced that the Congress Party Sikhs were that low that even if she ordered an army assault on Sri Harmander Sahib, they would remain silent and would tow the party line. She was confident that the Shromani Akali Dal would be taught a lesson and they would not dare step out of line again. Leading Akali leaders gave assurances to Indira Gandhi that Sant Jee would run scared when faced against the might of the Indian Army and that they will not support him, in the event of the attack. Many leading personalities of India and abroad, discussed the Dharam Yudh Morcha with Sant Jee. Sant Jee would make all those who visited him content, with his responses. Dr Subarmanim Swami who was a member of the Indian Parliament had to say after discussions with Sant Jee, “If Sant Jarnail Singh is a terrorist then so am I.”

J_(47).jpg

The government were failing in their propaganda attempts as they were losing to intellectual and well grounded arguments. They were getting frustrated and thus they sent the army into Punjab and put in place a state of emergency. For the nation that the 9th Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee was sacrificed (as a matter of human rights) and in the independence of India, 92% of those who were killed by the British were Sikhs, instead of being grateful they attacked Sri Harmander Sahib and Sri Akhal Takhat Sahib on 1st June 1984. Thousands of army personnel and tanks were used in the army assault and a fierce battle raged until 6th June 1984.

zzzz_(9).JPG

Some leading Akalis had informed the government that when they (the army) win the battle, upon gaining control of Sri Harmander Sahib, then Sant Jee and his associates will join their hands and surrender and the heroics of the Taksal will end. In 1983 one journalist even had the audacity to write that the heroic stories that the Sikhs narrate at Gurpurbs and never tire in retelling, they are myths like the Puranic myths. The Delhi government were convinced that Sant Jarnail Singh would surrender and that Sikhs would be totally disheartened after the attack and will become apathetic and controllable. The outcome of the attack they thought would be an end to the rebellious nature of Sikhs and an assimilation of Sikhs into the Hindu fold, Sikhs simply becoming long-haired Hindus.

zzz_(10).jpg

In March 1983 Sant Jee learnt of all these evil plans and the prevalent threats to Sikhs and devised strategies to lead the Sikhs through this critical and historically definitive period. He attempted to ensure that the dreams of the enemies of the Panth were not prosperous, and that the cause of the Sikhs received global media attention. In the eyes of the world the Sikhs made a unique victory with Operation Blue Star, as the government had to stoop so low in attempting to silence the Sikhs, making history. In the battle that ensued Baba Thara Singh (Damdami Taksal), Bhai Amrik Singh (President AISSF), General Subegh Singh and many others were martyred, Sant Jee heeding the advice of the Singhs went to an undisclosed location. damdamitaksaal.org

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
