HDD = Hard Disk Drive

HDD Cable is what is used to connect a HDD to the motherboard of a computer to get it working. Sometimes when you buy a computer you may be provided some extra cables in case you decide to buy more hardware in the future. In any case, if you don't know what it is, you should not attempt to do anything with it.

I assume your computer is running okay...

it came with a HDD cable and i dont have a clue what it is, what its for, or how to use/install it
But you said a HDD cable :huh:

BTW, HDD cable comes in 2 flavours, IDE and SATA. Since it's a new computer, likely you will have SATA. See pictures below, does it look like any one of these?

It may be that the components are new (SATA Standard) and that the IDE is packed with the machine for the eventuality where you may need to add a component and all SATA ports are occupied. Its good practise.

No need to do anything with it just yet.
