Wearing Panj Kakkars Before Taking Amrit

Recommended Posts

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

I'm at a point in my life where I'm seriously thinking about taking Amrit. My Guru's hukam is for me to take this path and with his blessing my dream will come true. I've been speaking to several close family members about this and one of them has suggested that I start to wear ALL 5 K's before taking Amrit in a bid to 'train' my body and mind in preparation for the Rehit which comes with taking Amrit. I've never really thought of doing this before, I mean, I have my Kesh, wear a Kara but to wear ALL 5 K's before taking Amrit?!? The more of I think of this, the more it becomes appealing, however, what does the Sangat think?

Is this is a good or bad thing? Is it allowed?

If anyone has any suggestions or answers please post your replies as any feedback would be very much appreciated. Bul Chuk Maaf.

By all means, GO FOR IT! :D

Congrats!!! :D

Yes your family is right. You will be better off getting used to the kakaars before taking Amrit. I myself started wearing them 10 weeks before Amrit.

Waheguru :) Yes, as Mehtab Singh Veerji said theres nothing wrong in getting used to wearing kakkars, especially Sri Sahib because some folks need getting used to it while sleeping, or making sure kanga remains in your kesh when you sleep, just small things like that. And of course, we all as sikhs must try to keep our Amrit Vela and proper nitnem, thats where the real anand lies :) Waheguru! :) Suck the nectar of bani, get "intoxicated" with Naam-Rass, and Guruji will take care that being in Baana is effortless for you :) All my best mere veerjeo, be in Chardi Kala!

Amrit means God, In chinese its called "CHI", it is life Force that gives life to everything in the universe and it is God himself.

That is the Amrit I know, The Amrit That Guru Gobind Singh Ji created because He was drenched and absorbed in GOD and had power to give Amrit to others too and thats what he did.

The person that is going to initiate you in the Gurudwara, is he at the same level as Guru Gobind Singh Ji? Is he a Satguru, If yes then go ahead and be blessed.

In true divine sense, getting initiated means, When a Guru ignites our soul and connects you To God within you, the light, amrit and then you start getting command from God within you and when you follow the command 100%, you defeat our own brain and live under God's will and defeat the divine judge, become free of karma, weigh less and hence terminate the cycle of birth and death.

Listen to what Guru Ji says about Amrit, not to Narinder. At the end, he's going to drown and take his followers with him.
