Hindu Principal Insults Dastar Wearing Sikh Girl

A very sad incident happened some time back. The Baba Isher Singh School located in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab appointed a Hindu Principal by the name of Mrs. Kundra. There was a dastaar wearing sikh girl in 8th grade. Mrs. Kundra told this girl to stop wearing the dastaar and told her " You look neither a boy nor a girl, you look somewhere in between". She tried to mock the girl. The girl told this to her parents who wanted an apology from the Principal but Mrs. Kundra refused to apologize and even the school authority remained silent and could not get an apology.

The question to ask is Why did a Sikh school have a Hindu principal ? Couldnt they find a gursikh lady for the Principal post ?

The sikh institutions have really got corrupted in this dark age of Kaliyug and its all about money, donations.

It annoys me on the whole bad attitude towards our Singhniya who are proud enough to wear dastaars. The comments of this Principle mirrors the Punjabi attitude towards the Sabat Soorat for our Bibya, I have myself witnessed these kind of comments towards our Singhnya from all sorts in the Gurdwaras, the worst being a supposed Granthi.

These supposed “Sikh” schools in my opinion are a waste of time if they have no respect for Sabat Soorat. Sadly, we will find many of these “Sikh” schools are about statistics and donations rather that Sikhi.

The Sikhs of the west all together should write a letter of complaint with a petition signed by all sangath members sen to the school and education authority of Punjab demanding an apology from the pricipal to the parents. We should also mention in the letter as to why the School could not employ a Gursikh Bibi/Singh for the posistion as Principal. It is a must that we should take action (through the pen ofcourse) how can we let this happen Punjab and let her get away with it. I request all Panthic leaders to get to together form a letter and petition to take this forward. Let this principal know how dare she mock our young sisters.

She left the school because she got a better job in another Sikh Institution, called GRD ( Guru Ramdass) Academy. I provided the contact details in my previous post.
