bbc is ridiculous, there's a program on bbc2 at 10pm today. it's about MUSLIMS LEARNING TO DRIVE - it's a freaking series of 6 programs, after a show about OBAMA and just before NEWSNIGHT.

i can't see how there's no agenda behind something like that, an absolutely pointless show, just to make muslims look better to the public - when there are so many more important issues out there that a documentary could be made of

The fact remains Sonia Deol(Jaswinder Sidhu),Tommy Nagra,Bajwa and others have in fact confused people more about 1984(particularly June 1984) than claifying the issue.

This was a poorly researched but well presented program.

showed a little new clips of Bhindranwale so thats good.... but gave long interviews from Mark Tully n Paapi ks Brar... that killed documentry

If you see the titles at the end of the documentary the India Location Producer is Mandeep Bajwa. He is a member of the Congress party and anybody who goes on internet forums will see that he supports Bluestar and even defends the killings by the army when most Indians don't now. You could see that the Sikh viewpoint was left to a young boy (who did well considering), while the Indian side was heavy weights like Tully. When Giani Puran singh said the defending Singhs were not afraid and were in good spirits, the translation said they were laughing at the attack, how wrong meanings can be obtained. A fluent English speaker was needed to put the Sikh view.

A real conflict of interest that the BBC should look into by using Bajwa.

I think this Mandeep Bajwa situation is actualy a very serious one. If the BBC top brass can be made aware of it, it is potentialy very damaging to the makers of the programme. The problem is, the management at the BBC are not aware of the issues here. Its up to those of you here, with a better flair of writing, to make them aware. They wouldn't dream of having a member of the German Nazi party as a location manager for a documentary about jewish concentrate camps in Germany....so what makes it any more acceptable when it comes to Sikhs? The BBC, the ITC or whatever watchdog there is...they all need to be made aware of this issue. What people need to remember is that the BBC is not a commercial organisation. Its function is to serve us, the British public, who pay for it. It is therefore accountable to us. Someone at the BBC needs to be asked these serious questions and they have a duty to answer.

Can anyone provide more info on Mandeep Bajwa? I did a Google Search and there was nothing substantive on him. Agree that we should be writing letters to our MPs/BBC. Rob Marris MP assisted Sikh Federation in getting more air time for Sikh issues on BBC, and I'm sure he'd help if the BBC was shown to be using known Congress agents to create one-sided documentaries for the BBC, especially on 1984.

This video as of no surprise would be biased on the main reason why everything happened. BBC obviously will not ruin their ties with India and tell the true story why Sri Akal Takht Sahib was attacked. BBC needs India and India needs BBC. This relation of there is much more important than telling the Truth. This is all one sided. The fact they called Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa a murder, terrorist, ruthless, bully, power seeker, preacher with an agenda, extremist religious man, Congress puppet shows how far they are from actually finding out the truth. BBC is only interested in political correctness as 99.9% of the organizations are doing the same.

IT is very naïve to believe BBC has no political pressure on it and doesn't fall to this pressure to present what the leaders want from them.

The first 20 or so minutes of this BBC presentation on 1984 only matters because this is where they covered why Sri Akal Takht was attacked. If you have seen it then you know they blamed everything on Sant ji for being stubborn and full of himself.

After that what they present is just, too bad the Sikh had a bad leader. I feel sympathy for the Sikhs, but it wasn't the Indian Governments fault. I know the ones that have looked into this and know Sant ji won't fall for this cr*p, but let's face it how many people have actually done their research and if they have how many have been misled.

Overall nothing came good out of this presentation and nothing will come good out of biased and politically motived organizations.

The person presenting this take on 1984 really doesn't matter because Sonia Deol reports what BBC see as Truth, and if not Sonia Deol, then d*ck or harry or Jane would have done the same. She should have know better, but her appearance says a lot.
