WEST BENGAL SIKH SANGAT ENFORCES PANTHIC DIRECTIVE AGAINST HERETIC RAGI

PANTHIC.ORG | Published on January 23, 2010

Ragi, barely able to keep his turban on, escaping the wrath of the local sangat

KOLKOTA - On January 19th, Ragi Darshan Singh franticly escaped the wrath of the local Sikh community in Asansol, near Kolkota (formerly Calcutta) West Bengal, after they enforced the Sri Akal Takht Sahib directive barring the Ragi from Panthic stages and platforms. The above video footage details the frantic escape by the Ragi from the ire of the Asansol Sikh community.

For his safety, the ragi routinely travels with security escorts provided by the State and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

The Ragi has become a 'persona non grata' after publicly ridiculing the authority of the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and condemning the sacred Nitnem, Amrit sanchar Banis, and the Sikh Ardaas.

The directive from Sri Akal Takht Sahib states that until the Ragi appears in person for atonement, all Sikh organizations, institutions, and Gurdwaras should not allow the Ragi to utilize their facilities.

However, if the Ragi fails to appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib by January 29th of 2010, then strict action could be taken according to Panthic norms and traditions – most likely the excommunication from the Sikh Panth.

Ragi has publicly stated that he does not recognize the authority of these Jathedars, and went to the extent of even calling them 'paapi', 'tankhaiay', 'baymukh.'

Initially, the Ragi was directed to appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 5th, 2009 before the five Singh Sahibans and provide explanation for the offending remarks he had made about Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at a Rochester, New York Gurdwara.

Having failed to appear on the 5th of December, Sri Akal Takht Sahib then declared the Ragi as a "Guru-Nindak" who, due to ego and self-interest, failed to uphold the respect and maryada of the sacred Takht Sahib.

The Kolkota development is the latest incident in which the directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib were enforced by the Sikh community by shunning the heretic Ragi.

How can we be happy when our beloved Sikh brothers are fighting amongst themselves, Maharaj gave us all a brain and a tongue to resolve our issues, how can a loyal Sikh of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji the Guru that our Dasmesh Pita bowed to when they bestowed Gurgadhi be happy when Sikhs of the Guru fail to resolve their affairs with dialogue and resort to violence???

Did Maharaj not say that use the sword when all other means have failed??

Should we not attempt to resolve our affairs in a way that would be pleasing to our father? With humility, pyaar and respect for the opinions of others??

Let us not forget the sacrifice of our Gurus who always rose in the face of oppression! Our beloved Fifth Guru gave a great sacrifice because religion was being forced onto people, which was a crime; our beloved Tenth Guru gave great sacrifice because religion was being taken away from people by force, which was also a crime.

Our Gurus may not have agreed with the religion of others but they gave their lives to protect the right of Choice and Freedom of Thought!!

Should we as Sikh of those very same Gurus be oppressing our own brothers or respecting the right to independence of thought???

Religious issues are governed by akal takhat. If someone has any doubt on a subject , he should approach akal takhat for that.

No one is allowed to run wild with religious beliefs and traditions.

Darshan singh had been violating sikh principles for the last so many years.Action should have been taken against him long time ago.

It is good that akal takhat has acted. He is tankhaiya and it is our duty to stand by akal takhat.

He should be accorded maximum punishment for doing nindiya of Guru sahib.Darshan singh is a masand .

Agreed but however those who are not obeying the Hukamnama/Gurmata/Maryada of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and challenging the authority of Akal Takht sahib, raising doubts on Dasam Granth Sahib and calling Nitnem Bania are fake and not the words of Guru Sahib then I am sure it means Sikhs can raise the sword to deal with such human.

Case: Darshan Singh

What Happened:

He created Fake Adultry story about Guru Gobind Singh jee. He said it is written in Dasam Granth but however till this date he couldn't even mention the ang number of the Granth. Proof? Video Recorded

He said Nitnem is not bania of Guru Sahib ji. He threw dirt on Jaap Sahib and other Amritdhari Sikh Daily Bania. Proof? Videos & Audios all over net

Did Sangat try to resolve this in civilized manner before raising sword?:

1) He was called upon dozen times to come to national level debate with real Sikh scholars. He always declined offers giving health reason; however at the same time, He was doing world wide tour (Germany, Holland, UK, USA, Canada).

2) Akal Takht Sahib in the period of many years gave him more than 2 warnings. He never responded to those warnings and trashed them.

3) Thousand of Sikhs contacted Akal Takht to take this case but they don't want to take this dirty case as they thought this will bring shame to SikhSangat as Darshan was once Jathedar of Akal Takht for short time.

4) Akal Takht finally got all proofs in audio (full version), video (full version), witnesses and thousands of petition to take this case.

5) Akal Takht took this case and called darshan to appear in front of jathedars to explain his stand on such issues.

Case Timeline:

1) He went there to puzzle naive Sikhs. He sat outside with Congress party worker Sarna of Delhi and called upon jathedar to come outside. First time in history this such huge amount of beadgi happened. He returned back and didn't talked to jathedars as he knew that he can't challenge the proof submitted by Sikh Sangat. As per sikh law; He failed to show up in the darbar of Akal Takht Sahib. If you were to appear to court, you can't sit outside and call judge to come outside in public. Childish ! He claims that when he was Jathedar, he called upon Surjit Singh Barnala for pesh and he did everything outside of Akal Takht Sahib. Pictures came up showing; Darshan Singh sitting with Barnala and other Akal Takht officials in closed room of Akal Takht. Proof can be found on net.

2) Akal Takht Sahib gave him a 30days extension to come up again. He failed to show up but instead started mass advertising in Punjabi newspaper spreading hatred against Akal Takht Sahib, jathedars and other panthic organizations such as Taksal, AKJ & others. His boss Sarna started spending thousands of dollars in adverts/billboards to gather sympathetic votes from sangat. He ran thousands of ads everyday (one typical advertisement in Ajit Daily newspaper cost around $2200/day).

3) Upon failing to show up second time, few people went to see jathedar sahib and others and convinced them to postpone the second sada. Akal Takht Sahib being liberal gave another few weeks extension to Darshan Singh. Darshan replied to Akal Takht in one of his newspaper advertisement that he will not come. He never sent anything to akal but instead chose Newspapers such as Akal Takht Ex-communicated Rozzana Spokesman.

4) When Akal Takht calls someone there is a meryada which is being followed by hundreds of years that whoever get called by Akal Takht should not use sikh sangat stage of any gurdwara sahib until proven guilty or not guilty.

Darshan Singh is doing circles all over India going to cetain places and doing kirtan. Sangat protested against this and then Darshan got police protection and Sarna gave additional full security for Darshan. Upon seeing danger during day kirtan, he started doing kirtan during night time (12am and above).

5) He is doing everything to undermine the authority of Akal Takht Sahib. Sarna is his boss and with the help of Congress government, he want Sikhs not to follow Akal Takht and start dis-obeying them at any cost. They reason they want to do this is because mass sikh population are Akalis.

6) Him and his mates are doing what RSS wants them to. What is that? Finish Amritdhari population. How can they do that? by Casting doubts on Guru Gobind singh jees bani and finish off Sikh's Daily Nitnem. No they can't be successful? Well there are Video proofs that Ragi is saying ill of Nitnem and still we have some people who are supporting this guy even knowing that he is attacking guru jees bania supported by whole panth.

Supporters of Ragi:

1) If you don't have knowledge of Dasam Granth (and you can't unless you r willing to spend years in researching/santhia from right type of people). Anyway, If you don't have knowledge in that but at least one have knowledge in Nitnem Bani? Right? Can a Sikh see a person attacking bania of our Guru Sahibs? Indira Gandhi attacked Darbar Sahib but this guy is doing the worst by attacking its foundation/roots. They need to think simple and wisely.

2) People are supporting Darshan because ragi helped them in some way; 1) Removing their name from India Government Balcklist. 2) Helped them by removing pending Punjab Police case against them. He did many personal favors to various people over the years and thus people for their selfish reasons are supporting this Darshan. What? How can you make such Baseless accusation without Proof? Proof is mentioned in many RAW authored books; one such is Open Secrets. Many original Kharkoos (many shaheeds as well) knew all about him dealing with Government. They wanted to punish him internally but he escaped by getting all perks and safety equipment from Police (Also, mentioned in Open Secret about his good relation with TOP BRASS Punjab Police officials)

His supporters need to think REAL HARD and be the judge !

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
