Nanak Naam Jahaaz

Half way through the night two intoxicated men decided that they needed to cross the river. In the intense darkness they managed to find a boat and entered it. They paddled with enormous vigour and enthusiasm. They were huffing and puffing but the zeal to get to the other side subdued any pain and exertion they encountered.

After many hours they thought that they must have covered a vast distance by now. When darkness finally gave way to sun’s rays the look of disappointment on their faces was indescribable.

They were on the same spot as where they had started off from.

They had neglected to release the mooring rope which ties the boat to an anchor position.

After engaging is Seva and Simran for a while we sometimes feel disappointed that we have not achieved what we set out for. We seem to lack that shanti (inner peace) particularly.

Whilst engaging in Sewa and Simran have we released the anchor of ego?

Are the moorings of hankar prevevting us from crossing the bhav sagar (ocean of maya) ?
