Satguru Nanak Sahib And Mardana Ji In Bamunanika(Uganda)

Recommended Posts

Wah! This is great news! More research showing Gurujee even travelled to such far off places as Uganda in Africa. As Bhai Gurdas says ''cherea sodhan dharat lokai'' i.e Gurujee arose to reform the darkness of the world. Now all we have to do is to follow our Gurujee's example and reveal Sikhi to the world, rather than keep it to ourselves. Gurbani says ''khavoh kherchoh ral milh bhai. tot na aveh.....'' i.e enjoy, consume, spend and share this gift of Gurujee of which there is no shortage. Sikhi is infinite. If all the people on this planet i.e more than 6 billion became Sikhs, there will so much unending more of Sikhi, to even fly to the other planets in the billions of galaxies where there is life abundant, and share it there!

From around thirty or earlier onwards, Guru started his travels. In contrast, nowadays, when we are reaching thirty, all we want to do is to be baptised Sikhs with a good job, get married, have a couple of kids, get a mortgage, a house with a garden , and buy a car to fit in with the norms of being Sikh and middle class..... and of course do nitnem every morning , go to gurudwara, do plenty of sehaj and akhand paths, maybe belong to a jethabandhi and fuss and fret about cooking, shopping and maryada..... and hope to live happily ever after. Its all about ''aap''.As sweet and safe as this sounds, its bereft of an innermost desire to ''aap japeh, avreh naam jepaveh''. Ocassionally, some rare Sikh somewhere takes on a desire to give up a full time job, do a couple of years granthi training and then serve in various gurudwaras around the world, like Gyani Sawinder Singh from Malaysia who is in New Zealand now or some ragi jethas and parcharaks who do tours. Again this is usually confined to punjabee Sikhs wherever they go. We have got acclimatised to regarding this as the 'norm'.

Even the international migration of Sikhs outwards from Punjab has done little to help us bring Sikhi to the communities within which we have migrated be it Canada or Australia. Our excuse?.. to each his/her own. I hope this article posted by singh_soldier inspires us to act otherwise and be more effective ambassadors of Guru. As much as we are proud of Sikhi and condemn those who hurt or attack Sikhi in any way, we need to have a conviction that Sikhi indeed is God's answer to the human suffering we see and feel today in all parts of this planet, and gear ourselves into action. This is the real challenge facing the Sikh youths of today and tomorow as the flagbearers of Sikhi.

Not just Travelled this Earth but entire Creation of Akal Purakh.

Guru Nank Dev ji also Travlled JUNAGARH City (Near to the SUN) with Mardana and Prathri(Chela of Gorakhnath). Some Astorloger told Prathri that He would goto Narak(Hell) bcz He didnot finish One of His Karams of this Birth. He has to marry to the Princess of Junagarh. Prathri said he is a Brahmchari. How could he Marry; Astrolger told Prathri that He got only 24(maybe 12 hours Not sure) Hours left before he compeletes his Karam and Goto Heavens.

Prathri got very scared. He went to Gorakh and Told him all this. Gorakhnath thorugh his RIddhi and siddhi told that Astrologer has told him truth. Prathri has to marry Princess of Junagarh City(Karam of Previous Births). Prathri asked Gorakhnath that 'Can you help him to travel Junagrah city before or within 24 hours'. Gorakh nath told Even though he is one of greatest YOGi on thisplanet at that time. BUT he cannot travel within a Short Period of time to Jungarh which 89crore mile away from Earth near to the SUN.

Prathri requested Gorakh to help him. Gorakhnath told only 'GURU Nank Dev ji can help you'. Prathir sat in Yogic meditation and humbly Prayed to Guru Nank Dev ji and within Seconds GUr Nanak Dev with Mardana were in front of eyes. He Expalined all the problem to Guru Nank Devji.

Gur Nank Dev ji told Prathri donot worry.Pack up we are going to JUNAGarh city. Guru Nanak dev ji Sat on his Asan and Mardana too. Prathri Sat on his asan and Closed their eyes and told everyone to say''SAT KARTAR''. Within the blink eye they were in JUNAgarh city. Guru Nank dev ji told Prathir stay their in the Garden of JUnagarh and Get ready for the wedding.

Guru Nanak dev ji went to the paalce and expalined everything to the King and His Daughter about His Daughters previous Karmic actions with Prathri.

Prathri finally got wed to Princess of Junagarh. after the wedding Guru Nank dev ji told Prathri that SInce you are brahamchari and you have completed your last Karmuic actions. Let the Pricess do Bagati here in Jungarh and You come with us back to Matlok(Earth).

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
