On the occasion of Vaisakhi 1699 when Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji revealed the Khalsa Panth to the world, the Panj Pyarai who were the primal members of the Khalsa were presented to the Sikh congregation dressed in blue robes and the Panj Kakkar. Bhai Gurdas Singh, a contemporary poet of the Tenth Guru writes;

‘Like this the Buchangi Singh (young warriors) were presented, adorned in blue garments.’ (Vaaran, Bhai Gurdas Singh) *

In Pracchin Panth Parkash, it is noted that upon the creation of the Bhuchangi (Nihang) Singhs, groups of Nihang Singhs were sent across the land at the instruction of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to perform Amrit Sanchars and initiate new recruits into the Khalsa Panth. For more three hundred years Nihang Singhs have carried forward the traditions of the Guru Sahib’s and have performed thousands of Amrit Sanchars across India.

Residents of the UK are most fortunate that Nihang Singhs lead by Jathedar Baba Tarlok Singh Mukhi Tarna Dal (Khyale Vale) will be performing an Amrit Sanchar at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall at 10am on the 10th of April 2010.

Drinking nectar from a spiritual master is seen as the first sign of commitment from a disciple. We urge all to take this step towards the Guru and join the Khalsa Panth. Meditate upon the Guru’s writing, heed to the Guru’s message, join the Guru’s fold and flow in the stream the leads back to the divine ocean.

Bhaee Gurdas ji in his Vaar 41 Pauri 1 says:-

ਪੀਵਹੁ ਪਾਹੁਲ ਖੰਡੇਧਾਰ ਹੋਇ ਜਨਮ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ।

Peevahu pahul khanddaedhhar hoe janam suhaela.

Take Pahul of Khanda so that your life becomes successful.

ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ।

Gur sangat keenee khhalasa manamukhee duhaela.

Gur-Sangat is now called Khalsa and those who are followers of

their own mind, will be lamenting.

ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲਾ ॥ ੧ ॥

Vah vah Gobind Singh apae gur chaela || 1 ||

Vah Vah is GURU GOBIND SINGHwho himself is Guru and also the pupil.

IN rehatnama also it is mentioned :-

"Singh soee parvaan Khande ki Pahul chhake."

Amrit Peevoh Sada Chir Jeevo - Drink the nectar which gives you immortality. nice post, lets put up messages to encourage sangata to take anmrit this year and locations of amrit sanchars. Every Vaisakhi the Khalsa Panth is given an extra boost of Chardi Kala when new Sangata join the path.
