She needs professional help if her depression is as bad as you describe. Encourage her to speak to her GP who should be able to put her in contact with a counsellor or therapist. At some point she, or you on her behalf if things get bad, is going to have to explain the situation to her parents so that she has the support of her family.

Give her the contact details for the Samaritans also if you feel she is seriously considering suicide. She can call them at any time of the day or night.

It's great that you are helping her, but dealing with mental illness often requires professionals, and it can take its toll on those who are personally involved with someone with mental illness, so make sure that you are taking care of yourself also - eat healthily, exercise regularly, and do as much Sukhmani Sahibs as you can.

sikh dharm teaches that no matter what, we must pay off our lekh, and the lekh of suicide is very heavy. i know it's tough, but you need to discuss this with her so that she has another reason to not do this. and what kaljug veer said is appropriate too.
