With Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jeo Maharajs infinite blessings, Guru pyaari Sangat Ji has been able to complete the task set by Maharaj! :happy: We started marching towards His lotus feet with the hope that He will get his task done by Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj's Parkaash Diwas, it looked like a big task at the time but His kirpa is so beant that rather than marching, we actually started running towards Him instead :happy: :L: This reminds me of Bhai Gurdas Ji's Famous Vaar:

Charan saran Gur ek painda jaaeh chal, Satgur kot paindaa aageh hoeh layt hai

If you take one step towards the Guru, The Guru will take millions of steps to welcome you.

I'm really sorry Guru Roop Sangat Jeo am horrible at making speeches , please forgive me for that. I just pray that Maharaj blesses us with the dust of the feet of everyone who has contributed towards this beautiful karaj so that moorakhs like myself can also start moving forward :happy:

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo,

Veerji had suggested that we all do 1 million Sri Mool Mantar Sahib jaaps for the Chardi Kalaa of the Panth and Sarbat Da Bhalaa. So please lets get together as one and contribute as much as we can towards this beautiful cause!! The post is in GUPT section as you can see, this is to provide anonymity to those who wish to remain gupt when performing the seva.

This is how it is going to work: Just do as many Sri Mool Mantar Sahib jaaps as you can, then come and create a simple post in this thread specifying the amount (kamai) you have done. Dass and/or other sewadars will add up the jaaps , and post the total here so we all know how the progress is going. You dont need to worry about the old posts, sewadars will count and deal with old posts as required. That's it, its as simple as that!

Please, let's just spare at least a few minutes everyday towards this cause, it is hoped everyone will actively participate in this effort!! 1, 2 , 108, it doesnt matter! :D Sri Guruji knows it all!! Oh, and this thread is going to be a sticky, so you dont need to worry about locating it ever! :happy:

PS: Benti - If posting jaaps as 'gupt', just post ONCE, don't worry if your post does not appear immediately as any guest posts have to be approved before they can be allowed.. Anyway, rest assured your post WILL be counted, so please just HIT ONCE . And if your post is deleted by any chance, you can be sure that your kamai has been counted and added!

PS: Some members have been asking of ways to count the jaaps. Well, there are obviously many ways, but i thought i list some of the more common ones, plus a few cool tips for the gadget freaks too Dont start throwing bricks at me for telling the obvious, some of us might actually find it useful! Ok, here we go:

1. Maala: Common sizes are 108 beads, 54 beads and 27 beads. Sikhs dont believe in rudrakhsh or tulsi maalas. Material of maala is irrelevant, what matters is the love for God. It could be anything, Sarabloh, wood, plastic, wool etc.

2. Tally Counter: You can buy these from poundland, or from any stationary/toy store. Really cheap, and discreet! Keep it in your pocket and do gupt jaap!

3. Fingers: Use your fingers if you are in the public or dont have any mala around. 1 cycle is usually of 12 jaaps, if you repeat that 9 times, it complete 1 full mala of 108 jaaps. Easy! Waheguru! :happy:

4. Pencil and paper: I used to find it effective during lectures Do 4 vertical and 1 diagonal line crossing them 4, thats 5 jaaps per set! do as many as you want!

5. Mobile phones: This is one of my favs! Almost every phone has the ability to add additional software to it. Since we keep our mobile phone on us almost all the time, it means we have got a mala with us all the time too! :happy: Those of us with iphones, android, symbian etc. phones can search for 'mala' or 'rosary' in the app market. Here are some cool ones:

So there we have it! Of course, there are millions other ways to count, find whichever method you are most comfortable with. The only point of all this is to increase our capacity to recite naam/mool mantar more and more, till the time we reach that 'rom rom har dhiaveh' avastha, we wont be needing any of these crutches then. But till then, we have to hold the stick to learn how to walk, right?
