Amrit Shanchar- Choupai Shaib

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh

What if during Amrit Sanchar the full Choupai Sahib wasnt read as in Taksaali Gutka's. It stopped at Dust Dokh Te Leho Bachaee.

before mahaj blessed dass wid amrit di dat i thought that the amrit will be affected wid short chopai but than a singh said that if you have gone to Guru gobind singh sahib ji for amrit di dat he wont let you down. (its harder express this in writing sorry if your more confused)

But dont get me wrong its bad because the maryada is changed. BUT if you have been to Amrit Sanchar wid short chapaui dont think youre not amritdhari because u are and you dont need to be blessed again. I know gursikhs have been to amrit sanchars wid short chapoi and they are much better sikh than me, wid longer nitnem, etc etc

am gonna be a bit off point ...

I am always surprised as to how we can FOCUS very well on petty issues, and not very well on basic requirements.

Take this one scenario from my local area.

(will not name what group they belong to, as this is not the point here)

They say they BELIEVE in many thing and in SO & so maryada. When it comes to their Amrit Sanchars, I am AWARE of people who do not even keep Amrit Wela doing sewa in Panj.

This is much more very serious. :excl:

Amrit wela is a HUKAM on every Sikh. How can someone who does not keep amrit wela be part of Panj and give hukam to abhilakhis that they should keep amrit wela? :BL:

We tend to focus so much on minor differences that forget about basic requirements of Gursikhi.

ONly such people can do sewa in Panj:

1) Amritdhari who has not commited any kurehit.

2) Is Naam & Gurbani raseeya. (someone who is a Naam Abhiyaasi...tho Jyot Vigasi would be better!)

3) Keeps Amrit Wela.

4) Gives daswand.

5) atleast 10% of his day is spent in Bhagti.

others should feel free to add if I have left anything. :)

VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

At the end of the Amrit Sanchar, the Punj Pyare also do an Ardaas that if there were any shortcomings in the seva, that Akal Purakh forgive them.

Akal Purakh is ever forgiving and the Ardaas completes the Amrit. So stop worrying about where the Paath was read to and concentrate on the more important things: Amrit Vela, Simran, Nitnem, Gurbani Paath, Keertan, Katha, Seva. And NEVER EVER worry about what Rehat was given to another brother and sister: Guru Sahib knows who needs more/less Rehat to get the person started on the Sikhi path. The Rehat was given - it is the starting line of this Sikhi path...walk with your brothers and sisters on that path as best as you can and never focus on the little differences/variations or get stuck in one jathebandi - this can cause a Sikh to stagnate and not progress.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!

I am from a hindu punjabi family but I have always been inclined to Sikhism. I am married to a Sikh too. I try and follow my Nitnem regularly and also listen to some shabads everyday. However there are some things that I dont know about Sikhism and I want to learn them. I have come across several posts on this forum discussing about things which I am not even aware of. I am learning new things everyday :)

There are several questions in my mind: What is amrit sanchar? What is Panj Pyare? What times of the day do we do different paths like Anand Sahib, Chaupai Sahib, Shabad Hazare, Kirtan Sohila?

I would appreciate if any of you could help me with some gyaan.
