Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Veerjeo,

It depends on when the child was admitted into the school, and also on whether he/she has been clearing the final exams of each class or not. If child fails the final exams, he/she has to repeat, thus pushing him/her back by 1 year.

Assuming the child was admitted into the 1st grade at the age of 4-5, and has cleared all the classes upto 10th without any breaks in between, i would guess he/she would be about between 14-16 years of age. Then comes the senior secondary education, the so called +1 and +2 college, which takes another two years so we are talking about somewhere between 16-18 years.

Hope this helps!

Everything PJS said is correct. End of school is dasmi pass (10th grade) but in India if you fail your exams you have to re-do your year again. Most kids start age 7, so if they do not fail they should finish school aged older....

Can anyone tell me what age students in punjab leave their secondary school and start college. In other words, how old will you be during your final year in school, I think this school year is know as +2?

Ideally A student is 17 years old when He is in class 12.It means if you don't fail in any class then you have to be in college at 17+.Some people get their children admitted early so one could be 16+ joining college in rare case

End of school in India is at 12 th class not in 10th.in class 10 board exams are conducted either by state boards or CBSE .After 10th your marks decide which stream you could opt.Science ,Arts or commerce.Cut off for science is very high ,After that commerce and then Arts
