First only Singhs can be in Punj Pyare. People who put in woman in Punj Pyare are following Manmat and going against Dhan Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji. There is no justification for putting in a bibi in Punj Pyare and if someone could bring one forward Dass will finally shut his mouth on this topic and won't bring it up again.

Secondly, a person that broke away from his(it's not his/her here just his, it's no mistake) Amrit, which means, committed any of the 4 sins, which includes cutting of any body hairs, cannot ever be part of Punj Pyare.

Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji gave a Hukam to his Khalsa never to cut hair, so how can a Singh that cuts his hair represent Dhan Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji.

Bibian that cut any of their hair off have broken away from their Amrit and need to go pesh to the Punj Pyare. Their is no exception, just because they are women and some twisted, backward thinking society say women should. Your a Khalsa, and no giddar, so live as the Khalsa.

As ONly Five, veerji, said above, nobody, I mean NOBODY should cut their hair, shave or trim or pluck. The people who do either don't know about Guru Gobind Singh jeee (other races) or they don't follow the sikhi at all if they happen to be born to sikh parents or they have already lost the prevelige to be staying amritdhari if they took amrit but not following the code of conduct which includes not to tamper with your any part body hair.

U cann't control the world.

there are all kinds of people in this world. I just experienced some different kind of amritdharies over the weekend. I won't talk about it, if I do, I will be doing nindiya I guess. I will just leave the people at the stage they are.

In nutshell, NO hair removal allowed for men or women if you sincerely wanna follow sikhism.

I think they do it because it "shapes" their face. Muslim women aren't allowed to do their eyebrows either because it will make them look "attractive" so maybe the reason why Sikh bibya do it is because it'll make them feel more attractive. I'm not sure why an Amritdhari bibi would do it. Its like take Amrit and stay in rehet or dont take it at all.

This lady who is an Amritdhari told me that she has "Khula Amrit" where as she was taking Amrit she said that she wouldnt follow rehet properly. She told me you can take "Khula Amrit" and tell Guru Ji that you wont follow all of his rehet and you dont even have to pesh for anything. I laughed at this concept but I think this is why some Bibi's do it and justify it.

VahegurooJeeKeeFatehe!!

My Mom is Amritdhari with Guroo Sahib's kirpa. Her eyebrows look as if she has done them, but they have gotten like this through time. I mean she started plucking her eyebrows in her 20s, and now she is in her 40s. Many people have even commented on her maybe doing it, but she doesn't. The hair just don't grow from the areas she has plucked in her past. So maybe some other Bibiyaan are going through the same thing? While I do know some Bibiyaan (w/ Keski) who do it even after taking Amrit, or have gone to the Laser Hair Removal center and done them permanantly just as they knew they were going to take Amrit, I think it is sad.

I think many Bibiyaan do it (as I have done it before taking Amrit) because of peer pressure and lack of parchar on rehet. I mean they don't want to have a unibrow, or a bird as my eyebrows have been called in the past. I felt embarrased because everyone else did it, and I felt I should too because I didn't feel comfortable with people always commenting on them. But with Guroo Maharaaj's kirpa the day I realized my mistake I kept the plucker down and it's gone for good. Now after Guroo Saahib gave me Amrit and the Daat of Keski I seriously could care less about what people have to say about any of my physical feature. Be it be my eyebrows, facial hair, Keski etc. I just think if they have a problem with it, they should just look away. It will save their time and energy. Plus you can either make your Guroo happy or the people around, so I chose Guroo Saahib.

Anyhow, I hope it helps you understand a little on why Bibiyaan do it. But I myself don't know why Bibiyaan do it after takin

Guest wha?

So men are higher than women?

Five men have the right to represent Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, and women aren't allowed to.

It's probably because men are just better. I knew we weren't created equally :D

*Just want to make it clear that sarcasm is being used in the previous sentences*

Why can't women be in the panj pyareh?

Before you accuse others of bringing up a issue, you should look at your own hand. I only responded to your post, which you believe is being objective, but it starts off with being subjective, "cool" so to blame me for your own mistakes is not a right way to respond.

and btw women not allowed in panj pyare laugh.gif

source please rolleyes.gif

Isn't it amazing the people that put in women in Punj Pyare or support it don't have one source saying they can do it, but they want to ask the Gurmat side where is proof. I know the world works in twisted ways and your twisted thinking will work there fine, but when you come on a Sikhi site or walk into a Gurdwara take your twisted views and leave them at the door, just pick them back up at the door because surely no Gurmukh is going to take them up.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
