Well, they will be judged by the Austrian courts and the press anyway as soon as the trial begins.

If some people claim that supposed "Panthic" Jathebhandi's endorsed the assination then why have no Jathebhandi's been vocal in backing the 6 "Singhs"??

Also, does anyone even know the names of the 6? If they are panthic heros to you, then tell me a bit about them.

For ur kind information Delhi Gurdwara Committe has helped them , thats what i have heard . There is a video too on you tube of Sarna talking about this issue and promising support. Check out.

Pictures of the Singhs standing trial in Vienna. Has this been reported in the Sikh press anywhere else? Most of the press coverage is the Austrian press....which is repetitive.... even the Indian press have become quiet on the trial.......

SIKHS ON TRIAL IN VIENNA

Published on July 12, 2010

The trial has began in the Austrian capital for the six Singhs who were arrested in connection to a shooting and brawl at a Vienna Ravidasia temple last year.

A self-styled Ravidasia 'Guru', Baba Ramanand was killed and more than a dozen other individuals, including his assistant were injured during the May 24th, 2009 incident.

One of the Singhs is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, the others are accused of accessory to murder and attempted intentional aggravated assault.

Officially, none of the Singhs were identified, but the Vienna public prosecutor's office said five are Indian citizens and that the nationality of the sixth suspect is unknown. However, the press has identified them as: Jaspal Singh (35), Satvinder Singh (29), Tasem Singh (46), Sukhvinder Singh (28), Hardeep Singh (33), and Charnjeet Singh (24).

well what i heard was that this fake baba was sitting in front of maharaj and people were bowing to him and not to guru granth sahib ji

and secondly none of you internet warriors have a right to judge these singhs, for most of you beadbi of maharaj could be going on down the road at the nearest gurdwara and most of you ladoos wouldnt get off your <banned word filter activated> to even have a look. HOW DARE YOU CALL THESE SINGHS COWARDS, TELL ME WHO THE REAL COWARDS ARE, THE ONES SITTING ON THEIR COMPUTERS WRITING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITHIN THE PANTH OR THE ONES WHO ARE ON THE ROADS SORTING THEM OUT???

exactly, dont you think that guru maharaj would want us to eliminate such enemies who insult and dishonour him in his own darbar. The baba that was killed was the head of dera ballan sect, these goons have done countless nindiya of guru granth sahib ji, guru gonind singh ji and of the khalsa panth. And then the fool has the audacity to enter guu granth sahib jis darbar and sit above and infront of guru granth sahib ji wehile recieving gifts and worship from sangat!..im actually surprised that the pakhandi wasnt beheaded!

Six Sikh men sent to prison for Austria temple attack

Tue Sep 28, 2010 8:19am GMT

VIENNA (Reuters) - Six men have been sentenced to prison terms in Austria over an attack on a Sikh temple which killed a visiting preacher and triggered deadly riots in India.

A court sentenced Monday night one of the men, 35, to life in prison for murder and two counts of attempted murder, the Austrian Press Agency (APA) reported Tuesday.

Four others, who had been charged with being accomplices in attempted murder and with attempted severe assault on the worshippers, received 17 to 18-year prison sentences, while one man got only six months in prison for attempted coercion.

The main accused man had told the court he was suffering from memory loss after being subdued by worshippers wielding frying pans, a rolling pin and a microphone stand, APA said.

However, a court-appointed psychiatrist said her tests could not confirm the memory loss. A gun used in the attack in May, 2009, carried the man's DNA traces, and investigators found gunshot residue on his hands and clothes after the attack.

His lawyer will appeal the verdict, APA said. The others can also appeal the ruling.

Prosecutors say the men, all Sikhs, had planned the attack on the visiting preacher because of a religious dispute. They went on a rampage wielding a gun and knives during a temple service attended by around 150 people.

Dozens of people were wounded in the attack, which also sparked riots in several Indian cities where thousands took to the streets, setting fire to cars and trains and battling with security forces. Several people died in the clashes.

Is there any support arranged for these Singhs famillies?

No one seems to know much about these Singhs. I think the press know more than Sikh Groups. Everyone seems to be treading very carefully regarding what they say about the Vienna incident.

Does anyone else have anymore info?
