They must be dealt with severely.

Anyone with any information must post/update it to this topic immedietly.

Its bout 4 hours away from London. Are there any people on here from the grimsby area?

I will attempt to contact the Gurdwara and find out if there has been any past problems which may provide a clue to who was responsible!

A Sikh man has been injured by a petrol bomb that was hurled at the Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Temple Gurdwara in Grimsby, on Saturday

58 year-old Kirpal Singh was out side the Sikh Gurdwara on Albert Street West in Grimsby when a glass bottle containing a flammable substance was thrown over the alleyway wall.

The bottle erupted and the flames engulfed Kirpal Singh, Gianni Boota Singh said he was left "disturbed and frightened" after seeing Kirpal "engulfed in flames".

Kirpal was taken to Grimsby's Diana Princess of Wales Hospital and has around 30 blisters on his ankles and lower legs from the flames, he is still in hospital.

“Kirpal Singh foot was badly burnt, fortunately he is doing well, he was visiting the Gurdwara after being allowed by the hospital where he is a patient to visit his place of worship

“Grimsby has only has small Sikh community who sadly have had other incidents where the Gurdwara has been targeted. Eighteen months ago the Nishan Sahib (Holy Flag) was burnt” said Boota Singh.

The Grimsby 35/40 families in Grimsby have had a place of worship since 1994

The Sikh community and the police have appealed for witness to come forward. Kirpal Singh son Harp, 33, also of Grimsby, is also appealing for help to find out who is responsible.

He said: "Whoever did it is a coward – they didn't come round the front. It was lucky it wasn't a Sunday. We can have dozens outside the temple – someone could have been killed.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "This incident is being treated very seriously and an investigation is underway."

Witnesses, or anyone with information are being asked to call 0845 60 60 222, quoting log 550 of 26/6/10, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Why hasnt this news story received wider coverage? this is a potential mass murder and terrorist act let alone arson. Sikhs place of worship deliberately targeted a minority community and a man engulfed in flames.

Where are the Sikh federation and other Sikh bodies why arent they making noises and coming out in the press about these hate/terror related incidents?

Just wondering, I don't think Sikh Channel has covered this incident. Unless I missed the report?...I don't think many people in the wider Uk Sikh community know about this and it does need to be in the Sikh media at the very least..... Forget the mainstream white media as it's "low key" incident for them...

We need to be acutely aware of these kind of attacks that take place on our Gurdwaras in the UK and they are probably likely to take place in areas such as these where the Sikh population is very small

....A couple of weeks ago the nishaan sahib in Milton Keynes Gurdwara was burned down....and we still don't know alot about the huge fires only last year at Bow Gurdwara or Doncaster Gurdwara or Cheetam Hill Gurdwara Manchester..

We need to knock on the heads of bodies that so called represent us. Where is the sikh human rights organisation? the British sikh federation? the numerous other gurdwara committe's all slient enjoying their barbecues.

If we dont make a fuss about these attacks on the british govt and media then expect more and more. An attack on a Jewish or muslim place of worship and you get govt ministers or MP's on the case why isnt that happening when Sikhs place of worship is attack?

We need to have a strong lobbying and pressure group in this country.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
